Why are you all so hard on Beatrice? They are adults and they decided to work together. If it ain't working no more, they seem wise enough to me, to talk it over or stop.

As a nine, I feel as if I experience reaction formation in public spaces, but the difference is that I complain about it once I’m in a safe space.

First time I heard the Artistry/Musical inspiration correlation..I am a 5. Music has been my greatest Passion since I was little. Been drumming & playing guitar ever since. Music is my escape, my emotional outlet that I can utilize to transmute anything I may have repressed. I feel very lucky I've managed to find such a fulfilling endeavor to invest my energy into, it gives back so much more than I put in, endless joy. Many thanks for sharing your energy & wisdom. - All the Best

A problem in 2 relationships is when they push their help onto the other when we don’t need it. My bff 2 martyrs herself, instead of being present, sitting down and talking and enjoying our time together. She will be up cooking cleaning, and I feel ignored. Mind you, this is in my own kitchen. 😂 Take care of yourselves, 2s. ❤

And some 2s can brag on themselves quite often, and don’t even know they are doing it.

I know. It's obvious through watching their videos that Beatrice has a lot of resentment or other issues built up toward Uranio. It makes watching them together pretty uncomfortable.

Well said, Beatrice 🤣. I'm a 2 and as I said to my own counsellor, if it relates to me or my person, how can it not be personal. Look at where the word 'personal' comes from. Something is not personal if it's outside of me or not connected to me in any way.

Is that the real chestnut? So if you're her , I'm entp sp8 and some guys told me it's impossible and ENTP is intuitive while 8s are sensing and this can't be a real typology, so is ENTP 8 is not possible, is contradictions are real ?

i’ve been having trouble posting this comment so if you see this 3 times, sorry! i was hoping to see some male type twos :( one extreme example of a male 2, specifically a sexual 2, is anakin skywalker from star wars. pride is such a driving factor in him, as well as his need for love and his strong emotions. i actually wrote a substack article on it if anyone is interested!

I recently watched "His Three Daughters" by Azazel Jacobs and found that the personalities and defense mechanisms of the charaters were so well defined and specific that I was convinced that the director must have know the enneagram system very well and found inspiration in it. I watched the whole movie through this lense. In my opinion, my typing would be Christina --- type 2, Rachel --- type 7 and Katie --- type 8. But people online seem to think that Christina was a 9. I would be curious to know your opinion, if you seen it! 🤓 It is a great movie (very touching, and somehow funny), a huis-clos with great actresses and I'm really recommending it.

I'm always happy and excited when you guys upload a new video. In my opinion, you are the best specialists of the enneagram out there and I always learn somthing while watching or reading you. One day I hope I will have the chance to register to one of your seminar or workshop! Thank you for the great content and keep up with the good work! 🙏✍

I am very curious how personality disorders impact how it all plays out. My ex husband for instance, was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder. He was also an Enneagram type 3 (this was all information given to us by professional therapists in two different futile attempts at couples counseling well before I knew anything about any of it. It seems to me that if a person is a sociopath, their enneagram # is somewhat of a moot point. Enneagram type isn't going to impact who this person is as much as being a sociopath will. Would you agree ? Should we assume that the premise for the Enneagram is that people meet basic markers of development such as empathy?

It would be amazing to do a study on Attachment Theory and the Enneagram types. Type 4 Sexual type are dismissive avoident. Perhaps more so for counter types. Please ask sexual fours about there compacity for patience. I find they can be chronic with comparison and impatient due to acquiring what they idialise as the best. Im a type 1 self pres dating a male sexual four. Very intrigued with fours due to there spiritual energy of "origin" - holy Idea AH Almaas.

I am a five, and the suggestion to give a five WEEKS to give an answer when addressing a problem in a relationship felt very off to me. If I waited that long to respond, I’d probably forget what the issue was to begin with. I mean, I know we need time to process emotions but weeks seems ridiculous! And it would feel VERY weird if my husband gave me a hug and then left to give me space. I don’t need alone time after a hug.

Ms. Chestnut's backchanneling (the mmhmm) doesn't bother me at all; I find it really healing, actually, like validation. A little bit, anyway, before Mr. Paes steps in and says, "No! The five is wrong to do that." About the point raised early on about why fives don't talk (as much as other types might find normal) in groups. I can say why I don't always: fear-type stuff. One, I'm listening, to make sure I've heard you and to avoid doing that thing where a five might intrude on a convo that was about Topic A and start talking about Topic B subcategory F. Then, especially if the others are new to me and me to them, I will be nervous/anxious (af). Will I add the right thing at the right time? Is it too much? Do they want to hear it? Will I harsh the mood? Maybe they won't think it's funny 'cuz it's sarcastic :/... etc. (Will they like me? Will they like me?) I'm a member of the Millennial generation, which is just a way to say that I was a high schooler when the movie Mean Girls came out. Lindsay Lohan's character is very fiveish. And she doesn't have to do much talking when she's sitting with the popular girls ("Why are you ....?"). At first, she's just glad to have a seat at the table at all.

Thank you for bringing back your Top Five! I have really missed them. I have been listening to your podcast for years, and I realized that the Top Five is a great source of learning for me - even when it's just done for fun. Hearing the two of you talk about particular nuanced aspects of personality and behavior has taught me a lot. It has especially helped me learn about types other than my own, and understand in a way that goes beyond book learning. Please keep the Top Five coming! Enneagram 2.0 is by far the best Enneagram podcast out there, and the Top Five is a great feature. Thank you, Bea and Uranio! Obrigado!

I feel like SP5's have the least advantages. Being an SO5 means your intellectualism is most useful and put to serving the world, and you have better networking opportunities, while an SP5 just has little willpower, is the least confrontational and wants to just hide away from society.

Great, brilliant, insightful video. I missed though the mention of the key point: the origin of the shame and self-deprecation of the S4, that is: parents brutal invalidation. If you don't mention the cause people can't understand where it all comes from.

What is super frustrating as a 2 is when we finally open up and grieve the trauma it just keeps pouring out and we can’t trust the people around us with our feelings.

Maybe sixes’ projection is the reason why they have double the trauma hence double the pain?
