This video is wrong on the speeds, you had to be comfortable sustaining 160mph for 15+ minutes, and only a few of them were capable of 200mph, you forget it was the 1990s

Here’s some additional tips… Don’t fuss over Kms they don’t mean shit. I’d aim for anywhere between 100 - 200k. They can go well beyond that. Try getting one from Australia or NZ. We drive them here and they have low running hours. Remember that in Japan they can have high running hrs and low kms. Some dealers are known to wind them back and piece them back together as well. The real enthusiasts over there aren’t selling them 😉 very rare now. Don’t expect a unicorn without paying out your ass and potentially getting burnt. Don’t worry about a factory manual. It’s just a price hike. Most converted ones were stock autos their whole lives on low boost! Maybe even a low kms or new gearbox in there if you’re lucky. Check how dark the carpet is - this is the best indicator of the life of the car - very hard to fake. Most are old drift pigs that are pieced back together. Check for dash lift. It doesn’t really matter though. Whether it’s a series 1 (Zenki 96 - 98) or series 2 (98-01 Kouki) doesn’t matter. Newer ones have nicer interior and tail lights. That’s pretty much it. I know it sounds harder but I’d try and buy one from Australia or NZ from a private seller. We have some clean ones here. Expect to pay at least $30k USD just for the car. They are bullet proof and last forever so it’s not a bad financial move if you have the $$$. They will keep going up. Hit me up if you ever need any advice. Happy to help anyone keen to get a JZX cause they are the best car in the world 😎

Hello friend, tomorrow I'm going to check out my first jzx100 chaser tourer V. I have a lot of questions on it and have reached out to some prominent Instagram accounts but none have gotten back to me. Your comment is invaluable for my search for information on what I should be looking out for. Thank you so much for this. Also to the author of this video, thank you! May I please contact you privately for some more advice and questions I have on it? I'm from Australia and any help would be grateful. Thank you

Excellent concise history of a very special car. I know I own a yellows 97 since 97. It's nearly perfect and don't talk to me about it being under powered there was plenty of bolt on comptech parts you could get like I did.
