Joan was wrong. Brigitte was obviously hurt by whatever happened 20 years ago so Joan was supposed to be kinder. Instead, she took a more aggressive way to humiliate her guest and I am glad she apologized even though her apologies did not come out genuine.

Thanks so much for posting this! As a HUGE fan of the great Joan Rivers, I've never heard of this show, nor have I seen this messy interview. I like Brigitte Nielsen but she's no match for Joan. No one was.

Great chaos entertainment but there was definitely misunderstanding from Joan. Brigitte wasn't being serious about the past situation. While she brought it up, there wasn't any grudge. She did try to keep her tone light and unserious. But then because Joan's sarcasm or unserious-ness came in to play, then Brigitte might have took that as defensive and it just spirals.

Joan is cool, but this whole so called interview should not be done by her. Theres too much shouting and attacking, and that's not what Birgitte would be used to. She was a highly paid global model that spoke 5 languages as most Danes tend to. Also a host can never try and outshine the guest and thats just not what she would get in Europe at all. I mean she was a woman with loads of marriages behind her, first she was with Kasper Winding one of the biggest music guys of Denmark in the 80s. He even did theme songs to tv shows. Had the biggest song of the 80s. And she had several hits in the 80s. Everybody needs a Body was one, later she did Body Next to Body with Falco, that was a hit too in 87 i think. She was basically the danish Sam Fox at rhe time. Glamour model tuened Popstar. And the drug thing was weird as she was known for loving the wine too much but i feel mixing it up with sleeping pills , or pick me ups and so on. She didnt have a rep for doing coke and all that. I think she was more like Anna Nichole Smith where her daily stuff just took overhand. But she also had her own talkshow and it was done more low key as the American style has never worked in Denmark. Irs too loud and seems too joke based. Thats why Letterman. Leno.Fallon and DeGeneres didnt really work and all ended up around 5 in the morning before being pulled off. US talk shows seems to be the worst thing any DK tv Station can put on according to themselves. They have the worst viewing figures of anything broadcast. Letterman got 4 years maybe almost 5 and thats the longest of any talkshow from the states. I used to watch Letterman and Leno when they where around 23.00 but not when they started to put them at 4-5 in the morning. But Birgitte was on talk shows all over Europe back in the day, UK will never forget when she did Fantasy Football League with Skinner and Baddiel. She was wasted, couldn't even remember what a Snegl was called. A danish pastry that ended up with a weird name she just came up with on the spot. But shes very nervous when she does talkshows in other countries as she gets weird about it. Dont know why, as shes been bumming around the world since early 80s and should be used to it by the 90s. But she never seemed confident on cam really. Which is dead weird. I mean she made music vids and films all over the place. Red Sonja btw was fun. I think Stallone saw that and wanted to meet her.

This episode of Rock Stead was one of the most influential hours of TV ever. As a wanna be musician age 17 to see Lloyd and The Mission on the same show had such a massive impact on me. So glad I have a fully copy of this, and Lloyds 45 min edit that was on UK gold. The Mission set me off in a direction, and Lloyd took me somewhere else you could say!

I think all the plastic surgery Joan had gave her brain damage! Why would she mistreat her "friend" this way?? With friends like Joan, you don't need enemies. She was a pit bull off her leash from the minute Brigette came out to the sofa. Not that I'm a big fan of Brigette but Damn!! Joan was a bitch!! Joan's lucky Brigette didn't pick her up by her ears and drop kick her!!
