Brigitte made a point about Joan‘s arrogance of belittling her husband for not fluently speaking english and talking to him like a little kid. Brigitte fluently speaks Danish, English, German& Italian and she also has an understanding of French. Her husband and her met in Switzerland so chances are they were probably able to talk at least in one of those. Joan was making fun of both Nielsen & her husband‘s comprehension skills and smartness, partially at least because they were no native English speakers. Saying something in German was her way of saying „see how that feels?“

When someone is a guest on your show, it's like having a guest at your home. You're supposed to be at least respectful. Joan should have been less defensive since Brigitte at the beginning of her comments, was actually trying to compliment her. They are both obviously more fragile people than they would have others believe. I love and miss Joan, but she at times was also a little thin skinned.... but still great.

Great chaos entertainment but there was definitely misunderstanding from Joan. Brigitte wasn't being serious about the past situation. While she brought it up, there wasn't any grudge. She did try to keep her tone light and unserious. But then because Joan's sarcasm or unserious-ness came in to play, then Brigitte might have took that as defensive and it just spirals.
