Thanks for sharing these awesome covers. Would you mind letting me know whether they both would fit the Hobonichi 5 year techo please?

I don't have a Hobonichi 5 year techo in A5 size. But I doubt it would not only because of the extra bulk, but also because they have that plastic cover that makes the notebook a litte wider than a regular A5 notebook.

My sister kept books over the years where she just opened the book, found an empty spot, and started writing or doodling or taping in stuff she came across. I always admired her ability to do that. My notebooks, even for brain dumping, are still so organized. It's hard for me to allow myself the freedom to go off the grid, literally.

I get what you mean. I guess that is why it worked so well for me to use an outdated planner. Using it felt like "going off the grid" as it was already "expired" in a way 😅

We have so much in common! I use my creative Moleskine in similar ways (less drawings), I’ve journaled this way for decades - snippets of life, conversations heard….. I also own Jung’s Red Book (& the Lynda Barry one), and Spanish is my Mother Tongue. Although I’m in U.K. and Day of the Dead is not directly from my country of birth, I added it to our lives when my child was born. It’s one of my favourite days (we include Dia de los Inocentes) Glad you popped up in my feed. 😊

That is very lucky! I haven’t seen any unicorn moleskine yet, but it doesn’t bother me that much because I have some cheap ballpoint pens to burn through anyway. Anything art related will have to go in something else (this doesn’t bother me either because I am one of those crazy people who have more than 10 books running in the background at the same time) Edit: actually, I’ve found a unicorn no-bleed-through combo with a kakuno fine and the sailor Kiwaguro ink. It hasn’t bled through anything I wrote on yet. Not even the cheap printer paper I got from dollar store

Hello Yngrid ! Love your channel - became a new subscriber ! Your videos are very helpful to me and i took a lot from your notebooks and incorporated to my own commonplace books. But i struggle with one thing still - how to put my notes into a commonplace book when i'm reading multiple books at the same time. I am very eclectic in reading and often skip between books and also i try to commonplace after each chapter or two (mostly because i find it very daunting to do it all after whole book - it feels to me a bit overhelming and my books are non-fiction so i have many many notes and my own thoughts) Do you have any advice ? Should i maybe reserve some space for each book i read in my commonplace book ? (but then there is always a problem with how much and so on) Thank you in advance and all the best !

@@annapikku Welcome! I actually bought other notebooks for when I need to write down my notes and I am still working through the notebooks in my Rotterfaden. In the end, it will be a collection of commonplace books so it doesn’t really matter if I can’t fit it in my cover. Hope that helps :)

I went a little overboard purchasing the 2024 dailies when they were on sale. 😂 I started to use the bad paper one I received, an 18 month daily as a brain dump. More just using it for my lists and stuff I plan to throw away. I have been very hesitant in how to use them. After I saw your videos though, it encouraged me to use a good one as a sort of everything catch all type. I plan to use this one for the rest of the year and see how it goes and how much I can use in the next 2 1/2 months. Even if I don't finish it, I will still archive it as part of 2024. If it works out nicely, I will start a new one for 2025. When I say catch all, I mean sort of combo of Common place, art/creative, and some diary journaling. No pressure on daily use and not sure yet for planning. I think I will keep my pocket moleskine as planning it seems to be enough for me. 😅 Thanx for the videos.

One thing I think people understand is that Moleskine has never claimed to fountain pen friendly, so I don’t understand why fountain pen users are so upset with the quality of the paper. I use fountain pens, gel pens and ballpoint pens and I choose my notebook depending upon what writing instrument I’m using. As far as I’m concerned Moleskine paper performs just as advertised.
