I've just applied for bus driving in Canberra. Done my written exam and waiting to do the driving one...did you also find it hard to remember your routes since there is no gps? That's what scares me the most 😅

I didn't appreciate the buses in Brisbane until I moved away. Compared to other places I have lived, they are just fantastic.

I like the indicator sounds of the Volvos, at least you wouldn't forget to turn them off haha. In Adelaide, I often hear the Scania ones which some are loud beeping ones and others are quiet like yours there.

Yea most do but also I've forgotten my card sometimes and most drivers will just scold you a little but still let you on

As someone who catches the bus ALL the time (I ride on a Daewoo BH117L4 Coach/School Bus Chassis & arvo I ride a Scania Volgren Articulated Chassis) it is nice to see what it’s like in the drivers perspective and what it’s like elsewhere in Australia because personally I’m from NSW South Coast so it’s different in every way to Brisbane…

You have to do everything over again in Australia, to bring it up to their standards. Good luck trying to migrate. I couldn’t get it accomplished and wasted valuable time and money.

hey bus man, do you ever do any of the 330, 340 or 66 routes at all that pass through QUT Kelvin Grove? or is that another depots routes. Take that bus 3 days a week.

Really cool, having lived regionally my whole life, I’ve never really considered or thought much about public transit as it doesn’t exist really outside of the cities. I mean some skeleton dysfunctional stuff exists but nothing you can really use in day to day life. Had a few trips down to Brisbane recently and I’ve really got a new appreciation for public transit. It’s a real shame it’s so bad in regional areas.

@@Robloxnoobyboy i quit after 2 weeks of doing route/public bus service, stay the hell away from route driving!! I am now doing private charter/coach driving for schools and it's a million times better, i definitely recommend it!! You just have to be level headed when it comes to all the drivers on the road.

My morning bus’s indicator goes ‘beeeep, beeeep, beeeep, beeeep’ so annoying, I can hear it all the way up the back of the bus, that’s how loud it is

a bit late , but when i first started in Adelaide, i reccomend remembering land marks , eg turn right at the maccas. in adelaide we use paper directions still im pretty sure others have GPS

@@willyg4917 Thanks! Yeah, took passengers for the first time yesterday and I'm slowly finding landmarks to use as pointers. I'm also using google street maps to zoom around and get an idea of the route and where the stops are.

@@DV7Dave yep forget to mention that part aswell. doing your "homework" a night before a shift can greatly assist you, i use google maps aswell, sometimes actually taking my car out if im that worried about it to.
