@neatcool47707 күн бұрын
Your distro was the only one I liked the look of a year ago, when I could not install anything more on it because you weren't supporting it anymore, I was depressed. Really man, I trust your judgement, just give me a Xerolinux that already has everything in it you think I need, video player, Nvidia drivers would be nice, etc. I started using Xero on a basic laptop, but then I got an Alienware M17x R4 that someone crammed a Quadro P4000 in, so Xero with no Nvidia drivers is not useful. I use Win10 usually, with Fooocus, ComfyUi & Forge, plus AfterEffects, Solidworks, Zbrush, Davinci Resolve, etc, etc, I want a Linux version of that set up. I'm a Win7 fan, highly customized, Nexus Ultimate dock with animated icons I made myself, dreamscene video background, all purple glass windows using blackglassenhanced, black & purple icon pack from Mr Grim, Stardock Window FX, custom cursors, etc, etc, I sort of have that duplicated in Win10, no purple glass, it's more of a blackish glass, but I want a Linux version and you make the closest thing to it. I use your 9/23 but I liked having purple incineration on my windows in 7/23, I would mix 9/23 & 7/23 if I could, 9/23 has better transparent windows.

@mukundtapaniya7631 The script doesn't install Xerolinux it's just Arch with Chaotic-AUR and my repo. That's it. The ISO is where everything is done for you out the box. So better backup if you want XeroLinux. Neither script or the ISO can't be installed on top of a working system

You are free to your opinion am not gonna try to convince you otherwise. I put up with issues coz they are not real bad to the point that system is unusable. The shell crashes from time to time granted but now it no longer takes everything with it. So it's fine. Should be fixed soon. In the end use what you prefer and be happy. Nothing wrong with that.

Hi there. I don't know what you did to get this issue. But my script does not do anything ArchInstall doesn't. I just modified what packages are installed. So whatever caused your drive to disappear from Bios it's not my script.

Is there a chance this tool could ever be introduced in the Arch package repositories? That could greatly simplify getting a XeroLinux system up and running, since you could simply install and run it instead of having to type a relatively long command including a URL. Also--are there plans to add other desktop environments to the script, to bring back for example the XeroLinux Xfce and GNOME variants? I know KDE has been and always will be the preferred desktop, but I actually liked what you did with the other two as well. After watching this video I followed your written guide and installed XeroLinux in a virtual machine. Worked like a charm! Very impressive! I was upset that the ISOs were discontinued, still am a bit, and was concerned about how well a script would work. Still not as easy, but the fact that you can start with a bare Arch system and so easily convert it to a full-blown XeroLinux desktop with just a tiny script is amazing.
@XeroLinux3 ай бұрын
Wow thanks for the long comment. But sadly can't add this to the Arch repos. I don't have control over that. Maybe in the AUR if at all. As for other DEs, nope no plans for that right now maybe in the future. If I add any it will just be Gnome. Don't want to add too many otherwise will be overwhelming. Am just one guy. Toolkit will keep evolving though. So will the Plasma script.
@UltraZelda643 ай бұрын
That's sad--I had a feeling that you would have some difficulty in adding the script as a package to the official repos. But that's okay! Obviously we'll still have access to your script for KDE in one way or another, and that's really what matters. :) That is actually alright regarding the lack of Xfce and GNOME as well. I was really just curious. It'd be cool if they were available, but I'm not gonna lose sleep that they're not. The true spirit of XeroLinux has always been, in my opinion, KDE. And you've basically perfected that with your script. So thank you, for so successfully capturing the essense of XeroLinux in a little Arch post-installation script. :)
@XeroLinux3 ай бұрын
@@UltraZelda64 Yep thanks. I been using KDE for 6 years now, I am so used to it, it's like a marriage where I love it so much I ok putting up with its various quriks, they have becomes part of its charm lol. At least for me. If I am ever able might add package to the AUR. Still if you use my Plasma Install script toolkit will be included but I understand wanting it without having to run script. There is a command you can copy n paste easy.
