@RaabsIn513 pretty common at the insurance auction yards. Unfortunately they let them sit outside while all the legal proceedings are taking place, and typically that's on dirt lots.

I finally wore out my durabond bearing tool, replacement was $670. So I bought the one you have in the grey box......... couldn`t believe how easy it was to install bearings. So far for the last year I`ve had "0" trouble with it, every cam I put in turns with my little finger and it cost less than $200. I`ve not yet used it on rollers but I think it will work fine. BHJ stuff is so expensive, even their torque plates cost way more than most.
@ProjectsMBАй бұрын
@edpetrocelli2633 I used the Snapon version of the Kent Moore for decades too but it's not very good with LS blocks and that is the majority of my cam work now. This has cured that problem.

I did not have to remove the plastic bracket. The trick is to install the nexys coils with the bracket on it loosely first on the engine so you are able to move the nexsys bracket with the coil around the wire plastic cover and then start to screw it tight down. Do not install the nexsys bracket in the engine first because the coils will not align properly. For the metal wire bracket, I did have to cut the corner. Since I have the cutting tool, I also cut a small area of the engine cover so it does not damage the plug and play wires. I have the same car and been running nexsys with b58 Eldor coils for 4k+ miles on pure 500. I did this twice without issues because I wanted to add dielectric grease in the coil boots so it's serviceable without much stress in my experience.

There is a significant number of engine builders that wont touch a SCAT crank for any amount of money. In a $65k engine, they shouldn't event be considered. For that much money you could go to Roush or Shark or whoever and get the absolute best of the best.

@fantaseahorse4696 we're not really worried about putting race engines together quickly, plus no matter how gently you hammer cam bearing insert into an aluminum blocks they distort.

Those main chamfers all seem to be done that way, on purpose?
@ProjectsMBАй бұрын
@markk3652 it does appear that way, and I don't think that it came that way from SCAT? I think the previous builder does that type of modification. Either way it isn't the accepted practice or the normal procedure

The solution is half good because it is not very good to connect only one jumper wire because it will disturb the current sharing on the same connector wires. The solution for the stator connectors and the stator itself is to replace the regulator with a series type of regulation.
@ProjectsMB4 ай бұрын
@3FHVSP this hack was done over 3 years ago now, the bike has not had any issues since. A hack by nature is a workaround, and this one does seem to be effective. One can always take their bike in for a dealer repair but if that isn't an option this appears to be an alternate solution.

Wow, I'm glad I seen this video. I remember seeing this a few years ago. I have that same rear hub. I found it on Ebay in an auction, this year. I thought it was a hall craft right off the bat, but it said it was off a Kawasaki KZ drag bike in the listing. Which both could be true.I did a bunch of research but couldn't verify it. The 6 bolt & the spokes laced from inside the bearings was a dead give away. Its chrome & the bearing pockets look identical to yours. Not a lot of shoulder left behind the bearings. Maybe .120 tops. I was gonna weld on different flanges, with bearing pockets, but I guess now I no for sure it is. It be smarter to just get a blank sprocket & rotor to machine the hall craft bolt pattern & hub dia. into them. I ended up winning it for $14.99. Which I thought was winning the lotto.

It is advised by many Ironhead gurus to never remove those 2 drainplugs. The tranny/primary oil can be drained by removing the primary cover. The sump will scavenge when the engine is running. Leave them plugged.
