Man, dont get me wrong - I see how much efford went into this, and results clearly speak for themselves but this is sooooo overcomplicated to use that it is really hard to be able to work with it in a way that You are able to achieve results that You want and intend without being a creator of this node system - I tried working with terrain mixer multiple times and it is really hard to predict what parametere will do what without constantly looking into a documentation and tutorials - if all that would be more streamlined and simplified somehow - boy would that ease the learning curve ... especially comapred to something like world creator which is very approachable from the get go - therefore very usable and fast

@@marowak87 hey there, Marek. No worries, I understand what you're saying. First of all, Terramel node comes with another product - AAA Nodes. Second, it's probably 10X easier to use. It is just one node that can be combine with other nodes. Also, the package will come with the basic setup so you really just drag and drop it into the scene. Terrain Mixer, on the other hand, is a huge package. It can be simple or very complicated to use. For example, you can just use the big menu with sliders and generate terrains that way. Of course it has a lot more to offer. We have a Discord and getting assistance there is super-easy.

I can't help but feel you could build object constraints out of the geometry nodes except make them better. You know like stretch to constraint Limits, Copy, and so on. Love your work.

Can you please be a little bit more specific? What are you trying to achieve with Terrain Mixer? Also, this video is marked as outdated (check the title). Some information are not relevant anymore.

@@BoonarStudio Well, from what I can see, we don't really have any meaningful way of knowingly guide the process to a desired result. It's fun for noodling around, but when you have work to do, there really isn't a way to knowingly get a certain look of a terrain. That being said, I noticed there is a canyon node which more or less makes it a preset right? So, my question is, why aren't there other presets, but only canyon. For instance "Mesa", "Dunes", "Deserts" etc. So instead of noodling around, we could have presets that would actually utilize the procedural way of generating "Mesa" or "Deserts" or "Canyon" variations to the max.

However, it's a slow process developing this system, so presets will have to wait for a while. Right now, the priority is to teach users how to handle it. Btw, this video is really old. @Frostensen it's really hard to give you the right answer in the short form, such as a KZbin comment. Please ho through some of the videos. For example, this one here shows one way of using Terrain Mixer tools, but it's definitely not the only way to go. Terrain Mixer has multiple systems. The ones named 'Terrain Mixer GN' and 'TMNT' (Terrain Mixer Node Tools) should work with EEVEE. The one named only 'Terrain Mixer' is shader based, which only works in Cycles.

@spittingame4241 What I meant is that there isn't a typical addon installation process from the inside Preferences menu. It is important to organise files properly. It is a rather large library of various tools. Make sure to join our Discord so we can help you out if you get stuck. Have fun creating.

@@BoonarStudio So I got one of the packs! I have a question, how many subdivisions is necessary to get the same effect in the video? When I paint on the sphere it's just looks lumpy and not as defined.
