That’s great thanks. I’m 3D printing a key for an old music keyboard and this worked for me too thanks. Turmeric also good and saffron would prob be awesome for wild yellow bits. Must try.

@@FreddysFrets Why do you do Tite Bond on the neck and hide glue on the fretboard?
@FreddysFrets23 күн бұрын
@@willdenham The only place I used titebond was to install the little maple strip over the truss rod. Why? it's a pretty insignificant glue joint and it's easier.
@willdenham23 күн бұрын
@@FreddysFrets I apologize, maybe it was the cap I saw you use Tite Bond on. I just got my 59' spec neck and body and am weighing whether to glue the neck in with hide glue or Tite Bond. I am watching your build as a reference and just want to know the best way to do everything.

@@FreddysFrets Thank you. I will definitely give this a try as I am fed up with using bottles once or twice and then throwing them out.
@bonzology32228 күн бұрын
this technique stinks, you're just moving the debris back n forth across the surface and damaging it, just flood the area and turn it over to dump the debris off, then flood it again, no need to swirl and scratch the surface of the membrane, also this technique only applies to a sealed c12 capsule for a 414, any capsule with screws through the tension plates is a big risk, that is about 95% of ldc mics

@@FreddysFrets And that will give me identical results to the hide glue? I'm hearing people say that it matters acoustically.
@FreddysFretsАй бұрын
@@willdenham I'll be honest and say that if this is your first build you're probably better off using titebond. Yes I believe hide glue has some benefits, but really they may only come through when everything else in the build is at a very high level....basically, perfection. But if you really want to do hide glue, make sure your mating surfaces and perfect, use 192 gram strength glue, and work FAST. Good luck.

Great instruction! Thank you very much! Please, answer for 3 questions: 1) Can I clean my Shure SM7B this way? 2) Capsule of SM7B has a complex structure, and I'm not sure that I can take it apart to clean all the layers. So I have idea to immerse it in a bath of alcohol or distilled water, and then dry it. Is this a bad idea? 3) Can I clear the capsule by isopropyl alcohol (I heard, that isopropyl alcohol better then regular alcohol)?

Hey, Freddy (and anyone else who may be able to help)! I've spent hours scouring the web, trying to find a set of templates to do a proper '59 control cavity, and have had no luck. Do you happen to have a file for them that you might be willing to share?

Hi Freddy! At 12:15 you begin planning the edges of the maple top in the vise. Can you please tell me why you chose not to use a shooting board with the plane positioned on its side? Planning freehand in the vise would tend to cause the plane to ‘perhaps’ wobble and not remain dead-flat on the wood as the plane moves down its length. But it sure turned-out great otherwise. Just trying to learn. Thanks Freddy!
@FreddysFrets2 ай бұрын
Great question! I only use a shooting board if the pieces are thin...like for joining acoustic tops and backs for example.. In this case where each piece is maybe 3/4" thick or more, it's quite enough width to keep the sole of the plane supported so the plane can't wobble.

Absolutely beautiful build. The only thing that made me wince was you not using the original push in bushing klusons. Any kluson style tuner that secures with a 1/2 inch nut looks wrong to me. I only winced because it was so close to perfection in my eyes. Still an absolutely gorgeous guitar.
