Still a top routine for me even after 2 years. Always see instant improvement every time I run it, even for just a little bit. The key really is to follow the instructions to seriously push speed to the point you arm falls off.

I just want a grip that's not difficult and unstable and lets me Butterfly click consistently 😕 But I have tried different grips to fix my consistency, but they're hard to get into cuz it's just a very small difference of like 5 millimeters shifted somewhere that makes this difference. It's unnoticeable in pictures too, so I just have no idea how to do this. (I want to right click butterfly and double click, so flat fingers, and have a roccat kone xp, that I use all of the side buttons on, so my grip shouldn't bring me too far away from those)

Question. Are glass pads smooth or do they have bumps? I work with glass so I can make my own if its smooth

Glass mousepads have micro-texture so the mouse sensor would pick up movement and offer a bit of control. I’m not sure if a mouse would work on a completely smooth piece of glass.

Also wtf does you coaching other, already BETTER, players on how to vaguely improve and the obvious mistakes they may be making have to do with how it affects your aim and if it’s worth it? Again insane waste of a video.

Sounds logical. But i really play (and work and do nearly everything) on an office Mouse-Pad about 20c20cm on 3200 DPI on a 1080p Screen. I am so used to it, whenever i touch someone else mouse on 800 dpi i feel like i am getting pranked. Further more, for the wife and me i built a desk inbuilt in the wall etc. there is no way increasing the space for the mouse for an "arm-aim". The thing is for every non-shooter application/game we never needed any more space, not even for fortnite. Now i am playing Delta Force and my aim there isnt as good ( it seem? ive no evidenc eother than i feel i get kille dmor eoften than in any other shooter). With the whole discussion i just discovered, i read MOST people play on 800 DPI makes me wonder why there is even 6200 or more oen my mouse available...like what are those high dpi made for? kinda puzzled here... :D

I used to be a wrist aimer when I started FPS as well, then I got a laptop in the Army, and had no table so I just set a mousepad on my bed, and learned to aim with my forearm that way. I've noticed ever since I always plant my elbow on my desk then just aim with my arm. Aiming up and down is still weird but high sens makes it easier.

I'm super impressed by your aiming skill! Random thought after watching this...For someone that's been playing online FPS shooters since the late 90's, there is something that folks either don't know nowadays or has been coded out of most online shooters net code. Lag or latency tends to make an enemy player visually show up a step BEHIND where they actually are (in thier simulated enviroment in game on thier computer). The net code takes what they see (thier simulation) vs what you see (in your simulated enviroment in game on your computer), and melds those togther with math and outputs whether you've actually landed a HIT or MISS. The problem with edge tracking the back edge as advice, is that is goes against typical advice to counter latency. Normally it's good practice shooting slighty in front of where your target is moving, farther in front if they are moving faster in a direction to counter the latency discreption. If the latency is very good/low, then shoot at the leading edge of the model. Targeting the back may be easier for reaction time when they switch directions, and might be better in a straight on strafe battle where there are lots of quick strafes. But if they are running across screen, or moving in one direction for a bit of time, you may miss shots aiming at the back of the model. Despite the appearance in your simulation, shots are landing on the model, the enemy may not actually in the exact position you see at all, they are likely slightly ahead of what you see in your simulation of the game. Each game has different net code, some are more forgiving of others and will give you a HIT as long as it looks right in your version of the simulation, but the closer you are to the back of a model, the more the chance of a MISS registering despite it looking correct to you. If you are trying to get high scores in a game thats fully simulated on your own PC (Aim labs), this makes sense to hone aand get better at. But when you have sims running on 20 different PCs located over hundreds of miles, you have to adjust for that experience slightly...

my aim looked a lot like this not that long ago. wish i had come across this vid, it would've helped me improve quicker. One 'trick' I came up with (prob not an original thought) which helped me a lot was this: reorient away from the perspective of moving the reticle, the center of my screen as if it's a point of vision (like an eyeball). It's not an eyeball, it's a camera-- my goal is to 'film' the target and keep it centered at all times. I imagine i'm a sports videographer at a football game whose job is to track a moving ball with their camera. this helped me worry less about making sure the dot on the screen was always covering the ball and instead helped me to move my mouse smoothly with less tension. It also helped me to actually watch the target, which improved my ability to predict and react. Keeping it somewhere near the center of my 'camera' was enough and i found that the crosshairs would end up drifting to it naturally, seemingly automatically once I stopped focusing so hard on that little point. Maybe this trick can help other folks.

Fundamentally the body follows where the eyes lead. In areas outside of gaming such as the national and personal defense space professionals are starting to take note as to how much an affect that has in performance. For example, you can improve reaction to visual stimuli by simply focusing on very specific visual queues that would help with reacting sooner rather than later. For things like tracking trusting your vision through focusing on very specific spots even at motion helps tremendously with getting your body to coordinate with precision. Arguably, the better your ability to visually focus at specific spots the easier it is for you to subconsciously and precisely manipulate inputs to get a result. Even if it’s at speed.
