You have to go up the Reecer Creek roas until it turns into National Forest road. Stay on the road until you get to NFS 3507 and stay on it until you come to Crystal mountain. The area around the mountain has abundant agates and geodes

You should for sure write a book, or at least maybe a pamphlet or quarterly "zine" because your insights and knowledge are incredibly helpful and would be useful in the field when there is no cell service to get on youtube. Like someone else said, I'm less interested in knowing your secret spots, butthe knowledge in how to find my own spots is what I'm after. After all for me it'sall about the hunt. Chris! help me remember your favorite spots on Red Top, please. I went out with you a couple years ago maybe when it was your last 3 day feild trip here in Kittitas county, Where did we park and head out onto that slope that had veins and surface stuff. I thought I knew it and unfortunately let my club down yesterday because I could get us there. BTW, 37 degrees and a little bit of snow but not enough to accumilate. I miss your local posts and hope that your life on the penisula is awesome (it looks like it on your videos). Best Regards, Laurel ellensburg.
@OldGuyAdventuresАй бұрын
We parked just below the red top parking area where there is a Y in the road, then walk back up the road towards Red Top about 100 feet. Then head straight down the hill about 300 feet and there still should be some float material under those small trees at the edge of where we were digging. You want to be to the far left of the meadows, right on the edge of the steep hillside that drops right below the veins

Thanks for the tips! I’ve had a pick on my wish list for awhile now ❤ Most of the rockhounding I’ve done has been up and down the entire coast of Oregon and inland in some of the rivers. So it’s a big change of scenery in eastern Washington. There’s another get together at the local club this weekend, will see what I can find out. I felt pretty safe in the past going solo but I’m thinking it may be safer with at least one other person. 😊

I rockhounded for many years by myself, I enjoy it. When your rockhounding by yourself though you sometime miss good rocks because you are spending more time making sure you stay safe. When others are with you it will be more relaxing and we all do better when relaxe. Hope you get your pick.
I've been rockhounding since I was 8 years old with my father. It's a passion and hobby that's stuck with me for 60 years now! You have a lot of knowledge and tips that I've implemented during my hikes to the river and in the mountains. You really should publish your book!! I for one, would buy a copy. I just wanted you to know how much your knowledge is appreciated and valued. Thank you for your time..happy hounding! ❤

@OldGuyAdventures yep. I'm already ahead of you on that one. Been hunting a massive burn for the last 4 years, but it's to the point now that it's all grown over in blackberries and weeds and grass and hard to access.
