The ex-US bias is unfounded in any data. Citing two countries that have done better over the long term is not evidence given that the US started from a much much larger capital base. It’s also only half about absolute performance. It’s half about functioning markets. Zero chance that I trust South Africa more than the US. Citing Japan in the 80s is evidence against his point. It’s a perfect example of a non- functioning market. Their stocks haven’t gone up because their culture is not shareholder friendly (though they’re trying to change this now). Arbitrarily investing globally because there might be a US recession is myopic. Long term thinking represents the above facts.

Totally disagree that it’s difficult to find companies that compound like Google. You just don’t need to find them at IPO. But more generally it’s about the work you put in. Professionals are generally not much better than any other intelligent hard worker who’s willing to take their lumps. This likely eliminates 99.7% of the population given that there’s a lack of interest. I think that’s the real problem though. Acting like people can’t do it completely ignores the fact that we don’t even educate our kids and population on these incredibly important subjects.

Then again does all those negative outweight how much stronger and bigger (even if heavely reliant on foreing trade) the chinese economy is compared to the soviets, also the idiology thing isnt realy a big deal just the fact that they are the biggest anti nato power makes them as atractive as the soviets were as allies, plenty of countrys were on the side of the soviets despite not being comunist and plenty of comunist countrys were against the soviet union like yugoslavia and ironicaly enough mao's china also the warsow pact was a more on paper thing than anything most of the european countrys in it were puppets of the soviets that needed to be kept in line by them so i would put their loyalty and capabilities highly into question

That makes sense. We had a chance to get rid of property tax this year and people were afraid to take that. Imagine how many people who had paid off houses would be able to give back and help eschother and thier families. But people were afraid that they couldn’t or wouldn’t help thier community privately. I’m concerned morally people are dependent on law governing due to thier struggle to help each other. I think that’s also why funding volunteer's is very hard now. Most volunteers are over 70- even at local blood drives. Also ppl morally are objectifying themselves and thier children - it’s an issue of morals these days. We are loosing self discipline and it’s not our government job. We need to self govern much better.

I’m happy for Taboolas success. But their recommendations have made the internet a crappier place to be. Someone else would have done it. But that doesn’t change the fact that Taboola was step one in the enshitification of the internet. AI is step two.

innovation means nothing WITHOUT PRODUCTION. I keep hearing about all these great innovative products that are supposed to be made in the US yet nothing gets released to the public. We exports more bombs and bullets than actual things the world needs. Finance cant be the reason for everything thats the issue in america and why things DONT get done

The US cant compete against china in manufacturing or technology. They want ot make microchips in the US but CHina can produce them faster, cheaper and at massive scale. All chips from US producers will be overpriced. The US labor market is a damn joke because all your innovation depends on immigrants and H1B visa workers. The actual american population must be dumb

American arrogance: "Our private sector is the best." (1) Your country's private defense industry can't even keep up with the proper maintenance of your country's naval vessels. (2) With a total budget of US$2 trillion, Lockheed Martin still can't provide the DoD with an F-35 that can meet the company's own availability and reliability benchmarks. (3) It is the "light asset" philosophy of Wall Street that convinced American corporations (e.g., Apple) to outsource its manufacturing to China (and not the other way around).

Interesting talk about the ethical scrapping, while BrightData have tv wallpaper apps that are free and scrapping data while the users arent even aware of it because its written small in the terms and conditions, funny how the tables turns with facebook getting in court with them due to terms and conditions. Would be nice to know his opinions on their tv wallpaper apps that scrapes the web and makes money out of the data while the users get a free wallpaper lol

If your child has the ability to jog in the sand for 1 hour every day in the backyard you can give him anything he wants but since your kids don't even have the ability to run in sand for an hour you give these creatures nothing they don't deserve anything until you understand oxygenating jogging in the sand every day and feeling God's love and strength otherwise you folks are on a dead-end street going off a cliff
