I went to my local B&BW to smell the spring candles and, I agree, A LOT of them smelled really weak. I’m glad to see Bergamot and Birch is back. And Fresh Cut Lilacs usually does well too. And Pink Lavender and Espresso 😊

Hi Sarita. I too am glad not to see tropical out in January. Made no sense last year! Valentine's Day makes much more sense lol. I have a handful of unused candles to exchange as well, but I'm leery about exchanging my Paris Amour Emily in Paris one since it was reduced during SAS, even though I bought it prior to then. Will I look like an arse trying to exchange that candle? I also have two Evergreen & Fir along with a Frosted Forest. Those two were gone before SAS so hopefully no issues there?

Agree with you. I got tricked into almost buying the sweetheart cherry fragrance mist but then was like “too preteen for me.” It was the packaging that got me.

LOVED your list. I think my #1 2024 fave was You, Me & The Sea. You’re right the black history month collection was the highlight collection, and I even liked the Sweet Sisters gourmand to be honest. My hope is that they start editing/building these collections out, instead of a completely different collections each year. For example, I would love if this Feb they bring back Gwen’s Note and You, Me, Sea - then maybe two new ones from Gonzolaz or even another perfumer. $6.00 Surf shop!! You lucky girl! I haven’t scored any great deals yet. Even when I was in the states. I’m really excited for the new neutrals. I’m wondering if you smelled Blush Amber & Peony when it came out last year? Perhaps too perfumey for you? I’m over the collabs. This is the one instance that I actually think BBW could learn something from Goose Creek. Btw happy new year sis. 💜🕯️😀

I don't know about Yankee. They are everywhere like dog poop :). Stop and Shop and other grocers, Walmart, Target, Kohl's etc. Don't think being in Marshall's, TJMaxx, Homegoods would do much for the brand. They need to do better on the quality and the scents more than get even more exposure.

I really wish I could get into Homeworx. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that I’m not a fan of many of their scents-even their gourmet ones don’t appeal to me. While I absolutely love their packaging, I’ve tried two of their candles and wasn’t impressed with how they burn. I really want to like them, but they just haven’t worked for me.

The BBW Spring "greenhouse" botanical/herbal collection that came out in January 2024 looked sooo pretty in terms of the labels! I never bought a single one, and I'm sad to hear they didn't do so well. Guess I'll check SAS to see if any are still around. My store had the regular Palo Santo (not + Sage) in DROVES for SAS. I mean, like an entire display of them. It's so nice; why don't people want it? I got the Rainforest Jungle as well pre-Candle day on a great sale, and am so glad I did! It's soo unique, and the label even grew on me. I don't pick up the alcohol note, but we'll see once it's burned. Since you are getting more lavender in the body care for Lav & Peppermint, I wonder if the same would hold true if they decided to bring Lavender Pine to body care? Then again, the reviews on the L&P candle are already stellar online (unless they're just fakes) Yep, BBW definitely has the most sooting of any candle company I burn. Gets annoying at the halfway point when the wicks start to dud out. Still can't finish an ancient Blueberry Maple Pancakes because it just refuses to burn down (should I return it? 🤣) I think one reason the Colabs weren't as successful is because candle people aren't necessarily TV people. Witness: Every.single.candle.reviewer I watch has NEVER WATCHED ANY OF THESE SHOWS! WTF? I'm over here like "How the hell have you NOT seen these shows?!" 🤣 Even though I've never purchased a single Goose Creek candle, I think their Colabs are more successful based on more long-term established IPs (Rudolph, Betty Crocker, Duncan Hines, Peter Rabbit) I think the laundry collection will do well. Price point sure is high compared to a grocery store, but they feel niche. I gave some as gifts and the recipients were super excited. I am LOVING the new glass soap dispensers. It's about time. I hope they offer more seasonal fragrances in the quart size refills instead of just the boring core line. Skincare- OMG, BBW used to be a top contender in this area in the 90s. The store was a true apothecary back then. Remember, they had to compete with The Body Shop, which was already doing a fantastic job. There was a blue marine face mask in the 90s that, to this day, was the best one I've ever used. They were doing colabs back then with leaders in their class to get the right product to the consumer (C.O. Bigelow, among many others). Today, they've just decided they're a synthetic fragrance company. Back then when there were only like 10 scents total, there was a lot more room on the shelves to stock specialty care next to the Country Apple and Juniper Berry. God, I'm old...sorry for this long rant!

lol, I have Tiare Sunrise in that ribbed glass vessel, found it at Marshall's, like it on cold. I'm looking at Bordeaux Fig & Raspberry one from Marshall's. I have Cranberry Vanilla Frost, By The Fireside, Balsam White Birch, Kensington Pink Petals and a few others. I'll be on the lookout for Jasmine Rain. Golden Bamboo was pretty good. I call them ribbed, QVC calls them faceted glass. I have Birchwood Vanilla from Marshall's, really like it on cold. Btw, their Hot Cider Donut is amazing and burning now, finishing up YC's three small triples (1.3 ounces each): Spiced Pumpkin, Apple Pumpkin, and Pumpkin Banana Scone, they were $2.50 for the three pack at CVS, bought three of them and have one left lol. A CB candle I'll be burning hopefully this month will be Evergreen Cedar Leaf, it's good on cold.

I have 6 of that style glass jar from Slatkin from several years ago in various bright Christmas colors. I burned 3 so far and then cleaned them out gently. They are so pretty! I use them for cotton balls in my 2 full baths and have 1 on my dresser! The one on my dresser I put a battery-operated votive so it glows like a nightlight.

You crack me up Sarita with the Elton John collab and the bougie replica candles! They definitely sound tempting but yeah too small for that price and my tax bracket! 😅

I never have had the candle yet, but I love the perfume of Jazz Club by Maison Margiela. I don't often like unisex or more masculine scents for me, but that one is so good. It would make a beautiful bedroom fragrance. Their most famous fragrance is "By The Fireplace", which is a more sophisticated Marshmallow Fireside. I have so many of those pretty Homeworx 3 wick glass vessels around my home being repurposed. I have them full of kitchen scrub pads, Q-tips, dental picks, scrunchies, etc. lol. I even used some last Christmas to make floral bouquets as an extra to go with Christmas gifts, giving the recipient the lids too in case they also wanted to repurpose.

OMG a Thymes Pumpkin Laurel? Whoa! Missed that one on clearance this year. Frasier Fir is stocked at a very fancy plant nursery out here and they never mark them down, so I'd given up on finding Thymes on sale - ever. But this is encouraging. Yeah, the amount of floor space Target gives to crappy candles is almost funny. But Walmart does the same thing, and apparently they do sell. I was laughing about the demographic buying Replica at $75. All true - generally not the best throwers. But once in a while, I fall into that demo because it makes me feel fancy. Same with Jo Malone, Diptyque; even some of the more pricey Voluspas!

I picked up one of the Mistletoe Magic glass Homeworx 3-wicks at TJMaxx in the green glass. It smelled decently strong like my previous 4-wick of the scent.

Voluspa Cherry Gloss is a great candle! I highly recommend it.

Agree with you on most of this, but I absolutely loved Dressed in White. To me, it had a nostalgia that harkened back to the 2011 fragrances. The strength and throw was definitely not there. I hope to see it back again this year with a much better formula!

You, Me, And The Sea was good. Palo Santo & Sage is a nice fragrance, the foaming hand soap is my favorite. Have yet to do Rainforest Jungle, nice scent on cold. I thought it was funny that they released the Hispanic collection during Fall, possibly out of the ordinary for them to do? Yeah? Hoping to burn Tropidelic during Spring. I'm excited for their Spring 1 candles and hand soaps to go on sale. Vanilla Coconut Surf was amazing, really enjoyed it last Summer. I'd get it in a room spray if they choose to make it. Nice video, I'll finishing watching later on tonight after work.

I SO regret not picking up at least one Sugared Lemon & Spice! Ughh 🙄 I either didn't smell it in store or thought nothing of it on cold. Then on Thanksgiving while in my mother in-law's kitchen, I smelled the most uplifting, zesty and simultaneously warm spicy cardamom scent that reminded me of their Ginger & Cardamom fragrance from 2017! It was so good. So I peeked over at her candle warmer and lo and behold, it was this!!! I was so pissed haha because within that same week they had just sold out online and at my store. I kept my eyes out for it on Candle Day, but no luck. I need to learn my lesson and stop writing off fragrances before I test them. I have a bad habit of doing that. Anyway, I agree with your assessments of Bath and Body Works and most of your faves from the year 😊. Mainstreet Bakery was a big no for me, though. Mainly for the fact that the wax turned black, which ruined the whole thing before it reached the halfway point. The fragrance wasn't all that great to begin with, but I was probably in the minority. I hope this year they surprise us with lots of impressive new releases and re-promotes. Looking forward to following your candle journey in 2025. Happy New Year!
