I think your 1st video on it took off because of your 30-minutes love letter to that Chrysler; got all the car guys looking through your backlog. Also, here's hoping the Firebird gets a limited-slip in the back.

I'm guessing The two-handed operation thing was just the easiest way for them to implement a design that cost them less money. By turning the motor off it allows them to have the return system work by simply backflowing the pump rather than having the valving necessary for it.

The part of the motor that spins is the rotor. The part that stays still is the stator.

The sun gear in a planetary gear system often is and often needs to be harder than the planet gears. This is because the planet gears have a far higher total tooth count and lower forces being put on those teeth than the sun gear. If the sun gear is made out of the same material as the planet cures it will often wear out much more quickly.

Did you check the housing and gears to see if they are magnetic? That look like sintered steel to me.

Incredible, I learned more about electricity in the last 15 mins. than I have in the last 5 years( I am 62 now) and from the comment section your Russian viewers explained why the voltage is what it is. Fascinating, new subscriber.

Haven taken every single drill motor apart that I have ever come across in my 62 years of life on this planet(at least 60 or 70) I can tell you that Craftsman drills are usually much better built than most other name brands. I do not feel this was a fair comparison.

You almost had it! All you had to do is cut the two wires to the push button switch and join them together. Instead you went and bought a foot switch at extra expense🤐.

Yeah people keep saying this but if you had this model you’d know that the ram won’t retract if the motor is running. You must cut power to the motor every time you complete a split.

There are different types of cords. A pulp cord (8’long 4’X4’) is about X2.5 more than a face cord (4’X8’ 16” deep)which is firewood like you have.

I’ll preface this by saying: “I’m not sure of you can get live data of something this old.” HOWEVER, and you may know this, rule of thumb for a naturally aspirated MAF is that the flow rate should read: 4 x (engine displacement in liters) = grams/sec at idle. 40 x (engine displacement in liters) = grams/sec at wide open throttle. This is what we called a volumetric efficiency test at the shop I worked at. Do a 2nd gear pull to keep it from shifting and messing up your data. That should give you a quick and dirty test on whether your MAF is reading right and should work on anything naturally aspirated. Forced induction…. Probably gonna vary based on your boost curve and waste gate setting. I expect you could use volumetric efficiency on a boosted engine to verify compressor health or waste gate setting. Also, I’ve had old guys tell me GM had a pcm hammer back in the day. Possibly a joke I was too literal and trusting to get, but the idea was that pcm problems were so common on some models that there was a device calibrated to “thump” your pcm to see if it caused replicable drivability issues. I’ve never been able to find such a device on the internet, but I do know that sometimes a gentle tap on electrical components can get a reaction from like cold solder joints or something and I can see OEMs wanting to discourage people “checking” their pcm with a small sledge.

I could place exactly what it was about the first video that I liked so much. After watching this one it dawned on me, you are a good story teller. Thanks for sharing these.
