You know there's non lethal options since mgs1, well except bosses, even if you tranqulize them in mgs2/3 or 4, most of the bosses die in cutscene anyway, so these people only killed the bosses , making it much less, and remember War War never changes(I know I inserted a fallout line and I love new Vegas, but as a metal gear fan, I think this quote fits in the series as well)

They kill because they are soldiers. They avoid it since they are elite and therefore a clean and traceless job is their style, but they throw hands and don't hesitate when absolutely required.
