Do you know that "Venom Snake" is just a nickname while "Big Boss" is his formal title? Venom is not even a codename, it was just a way for distinguishing him from Naked Snake Indeed throughout the game hundreds of people recognized him the title of Big Boss. On the other hand Ocelot was the only one who once called him "Venom Snake"

You know there's non lethal options since mgs1, well except bosses, even if you tranqulize them in mgs2/3 or 4, most of the bosses die in cutscene anyway, so these people only killed the bosses , making it much less, and remember War War never changes(I know I inserted a fallout line and I love new Vegas, but as a metal gear fan, I think this quote fits in the series as well)
