I don't have an eBay store, but I do occasionally put some books up on eBay. There's not much on there right now, but here's the link: www.ebay.com/usr/rimes12

Just discovered your channel. So do you read and keep all of these books, or do you buy them on eBay? They all look like very interesting books. I have some of those and plan to read them soon. I have read a Linda Lael Miller book. Great writer! I plan to read more! Thanks for the awesome videos!
@robimes16 күн бұрын
Thanks! I only have time to read a fraction of all the books that I own unfortunately. But maybe someday I'll get to reading one that I've bought, so that's why I keep so many of them, and just like to have them sitting on my shelf. But sometimes I do put books up on eBay when I decide that I need the space or will never get time to read them, etc. I haven't bought any books on eBay for the past several months, but I have done so in the past, especially when I first started getting interested in romance novels in 2018. I wrote a post on my blog in Dec. 2020, giving reviews of all of the romance novels that I had read that year. Unfortunately, though, I haven't been as prolific a reader in subsequent years. robimes.blogspot.com/2020/08/romance-novels-i-read-in-2020.html

Thank you for putting this video up. I grew up in Trenton back in the 80's & 90's. I have not been back in 20 years. Do you have anymore videos of Trenton?

No, I don't have any more videos showing Trenton back then. I do have a couple more recent videos on my channel of Trenton, but they are of the 2006-2008 era.

Nice review. Listing the original source for reprinted stories is something that seems to be missing for most publishers these days. It used to be you bought a reprint, Marvel Tales for example, there would be a little blurb on the splash, “originally presented in Amazing Spider-Man #XX”.

Yeah, that cover really sells the comic!-- both the orginal and the reprint. Bob Bolling was a great writer. Darn, I miss those old Archie and Pals comics.

Nice review Rob, I'm tempted to try it out! Haven't bought a new release book in 10 years. Crossovee mania put me off collecting back then, wasn't really interested in buying 4 or 5 books a month to keep up. The ensmble nature of the book was too much for my taste, I know traditionally it's a strong suit in the Bats universe, it does have it's limits for me. If i knew DC weren't to go down those roads too much i'd be good. Ohhh and if they'd keep Oswalda and the like out of the main books I'd be way more likely to stay around. I really like that as a life long comic fan you still buy new books! Good on ya fren. 💚🦇

I have a few of this title. Just ordered issue 98 as the cover made me chuckle! It's amazing to me how cheap a lot of this era DC books can be in mid grade... I do sorta get it as they're funky, but read an issue here and there and they are really fun. Nice collection and thanks for the show. 🧛

Hi Rob, Magazines are scary expensive imo. Comics are still good value, j order them (new releases) online ... Mostly new facsimilies, haven't ordered a contemporary comic in about 12 years now, the crossovers really got out of hand with Batman, who was my go to. I am tempted to try Absolute Batman. The Archie digest was pretty cool. Whilst I much prefer a physical book, i also read digitally - pretty convenient way to read when i'm out and about. 🐦

I think Marvel and DC could do much better than newsstand distribution, as far as gaining new readers, if they were to just somehow connect the movie audience to the comics. You see virtually no cross marketing or promotion.

I bought two copies, one to read and I gave one away. It's a sweet magazine with a tone of great, and some iconic, features. Really enjoyed it! While it is pricey, I did get more bang for my buck that I would with a couple issues of a comic..

Your videos are SO good. Been pick bit's and pieces of Steve's work over the past 30 years... Finally at the point of putting a more concentated effort into reading a lot of his lesser known stuff. One of the great artists to look for, fabulous work and gathering a lot of his stuff is not always a bank breaker. Pretty surprising but great as i'm a reader first. Again a prolific look at a prolific man. I without doubt will return to your vids to enjoy and digest all the greatness you share. Viva Steve. 🐦

Thanks for the nice comment! I hope to be able to do more of these "Overview of Ditko's career" videos in the future, covering the period from the 1980s to 2010s. The clips for the period 2008 to 2018 were already made a couple years ago, though not uploaded to KZbin yet since I haven't done videos for the years in-between yet.

If you get a 6-issue subscription to the "Classic Archie Comics Mega Sub," you receive the next 6 one-shots that Archie Comics puts out as they are released. Sometimes they arrive a few days after they go on sale in shops, but many times the issue will arrive early in the mail. You can find the subscription option at the Archie Comics website, link below: store.archiecomics.com/collections/archie-digest-subscriptions/products/betty-veronica-friends-forever

Nice review. The amount of dialogue in the story is incredible for an Archie comic! I subscribe as well and this issue is particularly wordy. "Back in the day", this story would have been condensed down to 4 or 6 pages and been much much more enjoyable. Maybe it will work? I went to the comic shop today to get some other new comics and they had a dozen or more copies of this issue on the shelf when they rarely have any. It's the reason I subscribe in the first place.

The “red swim” is just that potent red wine they put in the water. The brief battle with Attuma is due to Attuma being inebriated. Namor used his wit and tricked Attuma into getting intoxicated so he could defeat him more easily as he felt he may not be strong enough to fight him outright do to his recent incarceration.

Loved this, sadly I was not a teen in the 80s but I almost feel like I was, I was born in 95 but I grew up on anything 80s, thanks to my dad who loves the 80s. So it wasn't long until I loved everything 80a which led me to 80s books, especially the YA books like these.I love these books and am very jealous of Americans, I collect all these series myself and I am in Europe so I have to buy them from second hand book stores in America which has cost a lot over the years, and I always see Americans just getting them in thrift stores, so definitely jealous lol. Thanks for showing all these books! I have only a handful of the Caprice books as they tend to be more rare, I am at around 150 on my Sweet Dreams collection though after 10 years of collecting them, I have managed to collect a good library worth of 80s YA books, but I would sure love to get into a book American thrift store!

I think this new home (Front Door Cabaret) is actually a way to keep him away from the Avengers, etc, now that Sam is in the main Avengers book, crossovers, he's basically being more promoted than Steve bc of his upcoming movie. Also, it doesn't necessarily mean he has to stay there all the time I guess. I would like it tho, he has an interesting chemistry with Lyra lol

I just bought an '86 box marked as a '78 w/ discs un-played. Ultrasonically cleaned the White Album to play test...fairly quiet noise floor w/a dynamic and detailed soundstage (so like the 1st time you played yours years ago). So not what I expected but I also did not expect my wife's head turn when Revolution came on...we were both smiling ear to ear...that is when I know I have found at least audiophile-adjacent pressings lol
