You had me look up Charlie Christian last week! Is this "Swing to Bop?"

I never believed I'd be able to get such a jazzy sound and a satisfying chord progression like this on a ukulele. I feel like it's a late-life present just for me.

That's what I love to hear! You can make anything work on uke if you put your mind to it :)

What a great song. Thanks for the band backup!

Ah, this is a keeper! Love Frank Loesser. In my 70s now, my voice can softly growl that low C.

Oh! Oh! OH! The title promised barre chords, but the key is MOVABLE SHAPES. And I am so excited about this, that I am ready to drill all the new fingerings you revealed at the end of the video, until I'm swinging down a new muscle-memory lane. You are the teacher I need.

A dominant chord is always TARGETING another chord. This is something we know instinctively, even if we don't have the vocabulary to describe it. I love music theory, but I wish more of it were taught with sounds, and not just the symbols for sounds. <3 Good job!

I usually do but borrowed this one for a couple tunes the other night. Felt huge!

Sounds nice! You really do get more mileage out of some of those chords when you slide out and back in again by a half step. Nice way to emphasize the swing feel I guess

SO GOOD. The descending "bass" line ringing out as the chords change is so satisfying. Of course, you also go on to do some fancy right-hand rhythms (wow!) but I love that pure sound at the beginning.
