This means that the murder could not have been committed during the war, but a few days before their execution. According to the the sentence they tortured and murdered the wife of Tasnády Ödön, and robbed her flat. (Új Dunántúl, 1946-03-15, page 2. Statáriális ítéletek Budapesten) According to available data, Tasnády Ödön was reformed christian. I don't know what his wife was, but there weren't many interfaith marriages in those days. The wife could still be Jewish, but she was not tortured and killed for that reason. She was murdered for money. The two bodies were thrown into the mass grave in the immediate vicinity of Ferenc Szállasi, who was executed a day earlier. This mass grave was used for the "burial" of former nazi supporters, executed in the 1940s. (Later "plot 298" in the cemetery register.) In 1992, the excavation committee identified the remains of Gizella Pál as remnant 182. The committee identified the remains of Mária Pál as remnant number 183. Their names are not on the list of communist victims because they were common criminals.
