There were 5 of these in my family. 1 98, 2 Super 88s, 2 Dynamic 88s. They were great cars. Loved the speedos, fuel guages tended to bounce a bit. When it stopped bouncing....it was empty.

Now try the 60 Pontiac! The wide track suspension tracks much better than the Oldsmobile. And the trunk on the Vista top is actually larger!

From all that I've seen and read of Packard Motors I can say they had a solid build and reputation to go with it. The straight eight was essentially bullet proof both quiet and strong. Too bad Packard was a victim of it's own success and was faced with an overwhelming dealership presence in every corner of the country from Ford, GM and Chrysler. I would be driving Packard today for sure if they were still around no doubt. Thank you for a great review and awesome look at this beautiful car, it has a lot of WOW factor no doubt.

This is my dream car but after hearing all the horror stories I went for a Rivian r1t. It might not look as nice as a gallardo but I can carry, tow, off-road, hold more people, and smoke most lambos with a 0 to 60 in 3 secs flat.

Me and my company got a 1986 F350 6.9 IDI a with a dump bed, 5 speed and 4wd a couple months ago. Thing weighs 14000 pounds. This is the most reliable truck we've ever gotten. We got it at 362k and its now at 476k miles and it it still going strong with little to no maintenance. Wish they made more trucks like this nowadays.

I just love that saying, "They don't make 'em like they used to." My brakes in my all original '65 Chrysler NYK went out at 35 at mph, and I reared ended a Compact Dodge. The front end of my Chrysler looked like it was hit by a train, and the Dodge was missing a bumper. I "love" my classic cars, but there is a reason they don't make 'em like they used to. 😂

In the early 90’s drinks that big didn’t exist. People eat and drink all day and night and then look around all confused “why am I overweight and tired all the time?”

My 07 just rolled over 300K, I bought it from the original family. I know it's had 2 timing chains and water pumps, New radiator and fan clutch 2 yrs ago, along with brakes and front CV axles. Runs like a champ and everything works including the AC.

I know people say buying low mileage, older vehicles is a waste of money. But honestly, a close to new older vehicle would probably be more reliable than the crap coming out today 🤣

That wood is cool and so much nicer to see than the plastic they use on most of the way over priced cars of today.In my opinion it looks really interesting over all and I guess it got the job done.

I'm generally not a fan of Olds styling but I agree that this car looks great. Might be the best expression of the 60 GM full sizer.

you can't feel the 3-4 shift in that car because the 4th gear doesn't exist. That has a 3-speed automatic, 4 speed automatics didn't come around in GM's lineup until the very late 70's.
@chrisxa1222Күн бұрын
The hydramatic was 4 speed do some research
@blib3786Күн бұрын
The very first GM auto transmissions were 4 speed, they had them long before the 70s they just weren't used very often after the 50s.

Cars in that era had metals in the panels which were prone to rusting and corrosion, something that you could have pointed out in the video. But still a great review nonetheless.

*If I ever bought one of these* I would paint it pearl white with “gold” trim. Glass roof. And use the bus as a “Luxury Travel Date” service along the Miami Coast. I know people there would bite. Use the back walled off area like a food truck which is popular as hell there.
