Fantastic, maintains the integrity of the video. TOP. Congratulations on the software. It saved and simplified my video editing days. Forgive me if this is not the appropriate channel, but I don't know how to use others to make suggestions based on my experience. I split a long movie into 4 segments and exported them as separate files. When exported separately by Losslesscut, the 4 segments were saved with the labels I typed and I could distinguish them in the Windows Explorer directory without any problem, but they all had the title of the original file internally and when transmitting from my PC to my TV (streaming via WI-FI), in the list on my TV all 4 appeared with the same name. I ran the episodes in Mediainfo.exe and saw why; players identify metadata and tags and the title is displayed as the name. Would it be possible to export the segments with the labels copied to their titles? Complicated, but I hope you understand. Bro, how to chose what audio track i listen in program? And is it possible to mix them somehow? for example i have my pc sound on one track & mic on 2nd, and i wanna to hear both while searching the cut points

@@mifino That was the first thing I tried. My impression is you cannot just make a cut, make another cut and delete the middle, but cutting just deletes the entire video until that point? Ouch. So tried undo... nothing. So where to go from there? We gave up on it and downloaded something else.

I have a question about this software. Can it merge two audio tracks into one (re-encoding)? Also can it play back the video fast? Say 2x or five times speed for trying to locate specific parts of a recording? These are features I would like to see added if they don't already exist. Already a fantastic product, but these additional options would make it perfect for my use.

No it cannot mix audio. Can play back vidoe fast if the codec/format is supported natively.

Thanks for the reply. I found the fast play in the help section just after I posted. I believe OBS remuxes audio easily enough, so I'll probably go that route to finalize edits. There is one other feature I would really like to see added though. Let us mute tracks in a segment, wiithout muting the whole video. I know we can mute and export, but this step could be avoided entirely and save a good chunk of time if we could do it in the editor.@@mifino

I mean mute one track out of multiple. For example, muting my mic in one segment while allowing the game audio to continue. I record these on separate tracks.@@mifino

@@Zaicyn you cannot mute tracks/segments but you can completely remove audio tracks from the whole video which effectively has the same effect as muting them for the whole duration of the video. e.g. say you have a video with a video track and one english audio track and one german audio track. you can remove the german track completely and then export, and you're left with a video with an english track only

Hi Mikael, love this program. I would like to ask a question if I may: I can see you have a Label segment option; I just wanted to know if it was possible that if you export out a combined cuts, that the label In Point for each clip data could be moved over like markers/metadata for when you import into Video editing software like Premiere Pro?

My frequent use of LosslessCut is to trim down experimental animations I make, especially when more than half of an animation experiment is not worth keeping around. So I trim it down or save the best segments either merged or kept separate so I am not dealing with a lot of buzzkill footage later when I am adding media to Davinci Resolve. In other words LosslessCut helps keep me fresh and excited knowing that I won't have to look at boring or flawed footage later when I am importing my animations into Resolve to edit further. I also get rid of a lot of junk quickly taking up hard drive space. LosslessCut and Bulk Rename Utility are my favorite free apps. When I create a dozen or so fave clips with LosslessCut, I use BRU to rename them right away so I know which clips are my best, second best, etc. I also like your comment about free software freeing us from selling our souls to afford apps that are essential for keeping vital communication flowing, which is the way I "vote" every day, and add value. Do you remember seeing the bumper sticker that says: Live simply so others can simply live! You are helping us do that. Thank you! Thomas

Hello. Your tutorial videos is a find here, as it was when I found the program. But could you add a "subttitle" showing which buttons / shortkeys are you using when/while manipulating/using the program? It would be enriching. Thank you so much for this excelent program. It is what I was looking for specifcaly: cut without loss, fast and easy. I dont have a job now, but I hope I I hope I can make a donation when I can.

Hi! wonderful app! its very useful for me as I work with massive video files (15 hours long) from which I have too extract clips and trash out commercials, etc. Is it possible to cut out a segment and collapse empty espace? i.e join preceding and subsequent segments after exporting a smaller segment? in this way I could select needed segment, export it, and then just click delete, "collapse" (somewhat like iMovie) and have it removed from the full length file, save the file and keep working another day. This way I'd be working seamlessly without any confusion/having to memorize or write down timelines etc... hope I made sense?

Thanks for making out the tutorial but i would like to ask does it alter the video quality even by 0.5% ? I want to trim my marriage video but don't want to lose a single frame or bitrate. Also i have noticed that Fps get changed by 0.1-0.5 fps , Data rate increase to 2x and bit rate also Change by 1 How that possible ?

Hi. LosslessCut doesn't process individual frames, but rather blocks of encoded data. You won't lose frames or bitrate, however certain *metadata* might get changed/lost in some cases. Such as embedded title, and like you say, sometimes FPS gets altered slightly. However the actual video data will be the same. If data rate increases to 2x, then that could be a bug, maybe you can report it at github.

Any chance we can do a cut without affecting the audio? I would like to leave the audio alone, but trim out some visuals.

Not sure how that would work. if you cut only video, but leave audio, then audio and video would get out of sync. But if it's what you want, then you could achieve it export audio and video as separate files, then open the video, cut it and merge. Then open the merged file, and add the audio file as an external track and export to join them back together.
