the fasces axe came from the ancient egyptian ntr/neter axe pronounced as nidar in somali meaning god of punishment but nidar also means promise or vow

If individuals cannot grasp the basics of the past society and how they lived and developed then there will be little appreciation of what one has now. The biggest draw for people coming from other countries in the 1800's to the early 1900's was to Own Land as much as they can because old world countries were controlled by Monarchs and Toltarian Government's that didn't offer land. This was especially important after the Civil War that cost 600,000 combatants lives wiping out many families. Good land means a good possibility for growth even today. There's only so much.

Don't also forget the American ammunition deliveries to the UK. i don't think the U.S was ever neutral, neither in ww1 or ww2. they would always found a reason to support Britian.

Thank you for this video. I saved my warped wavy text file as a PNG to use for a shirt design but it saved it somewhat blurry. Looks low quality. I saved at 4500px with 300dpi. Any chance you know what quality I should be saving it at?

Britain from 1800 to 1900. 20,000 Waterwheels decreased in number. Windmills decreased in number. Englishman Thomas Newcomen's 1,500 Atmospheric Pumps disappeared. Scotsman James Watt's 500 Steam Engines and their descendants increased in number to 10,000,000 !!! For every SINGLE Waterwheel in 1800 we now had an additional 500 Steam Engines in 1900. In one human lifetime the whole country's Power Output increased by 500 times !!! This WAS the Industrial Revolution! It was a Power Revolution! Take away James Watt's Steam Power and Engines, we don't have an Industrial Revolution! This was the one and only Invention that created the Industrial Revolution! There's nothing complicated about it.

This entire video is somethat silly. What this video miss is a few very basic consideration: 1) What was the baseline of opinions for men in during those times! I bet that if one were to sample ALL men along with these enlightenment thinkers one would find that the attitude towards women (and other peoples) were horrendous (by today's standards) but so was everything else. After all these thinkers were men of their time and filled with biases just like everybody else. That is a completely banal think to notice. 2) Science as a profession is in some sense no different than any other vocation: It is carried out by fallible humans (and instruments) and thus the quality is bound to vary from terrible to absolutely brilliant. Say hello the the Bell curve. The same could be said for the work of teachers, carpenters, painters, bakers, cooks, well everybody. Sometimes we do brilliant work other times we do terrible work. Why would it be any different for these generally high level thinkers? 3) This video seem to assume that if one is a high level thinker in one area of life/science then they most be held to (today's) high level standards in other areas also otherwise they are a failure. Wow. No! To reach the conclusion (as of the headline) the the "enlightenment failed" because these thinkers were not perfect by today's standards is silly and banal. So no, the enlightenment did not fail! The important breakthroughs brought about some very important paradigm changes that have helped mankind tremendously ever since. The promise of science and the enlightenment is not utopia but rather gradual advancements DESPITE all our (including the thinkers themselves) flaws.

I appreciate your feedback. The purpose of the video was to shed some light on the fact that the Enlightenment did generate sciences and beliefs that would have an overall negative impact. High school textbooks tend to ignore the "hard" parts of history, and the Age of Enlightenment is no exception. I wanted the lesson to show students some of the more challenging aspects of learning about history and that brilliant and influential people can make mistakes. Saying that holding people in the past to today's standards is "silly and banal" is a bit much.

I’m assuming this is also the root of fascia in the body, as in plantar fasciitis.

Did the fasces have any function besides symbolism? Combining all those rods with the axe just makes it seem more unwieldy, without any apparent advantage.

Man this is a good video with interesting details, I think the word fascist is also derived from this kind of budle.

Just FYI, the sc combination in Italian is pronounced sh when followed by e or i. You are pronouncing wrong. This is why we pronounce fascism as if it were spelled fashism. Otherwise, you have a very nice presentation.

When you select the brush tool, look above the photopea viewport where it says blend mode, opacity, flow... increase smooth to 100% and the lines will not look jagged. I got this tip from the faizan amjed official channel and it's ever so useful.
