This is exactly what I was looking for. I just discontinued my $650.+ per year Adobe subscription for an alternative photo masking and merging, logo and website image-making tool. I, too, am looking for an alternative to create PDF-like documents that I can send to others who can view them for free. In the past, I had purchased Adobe CS3 as a stand-alone software. That was great. I hate that everyone is going to subscription-based models. It's a rip-off!

For PDFs, I use PDFgear. Its free and does what I need it for.

I'm a graphic designer and I always worked with Adobe because it's still industry standard. I got a CS5 version which I use up until today for my personal projects. Yes, the new programs offer a lot more now but I never liked the subscription model. Aside of that I also had a lot of bugs and issues at work over the years and Adobe wasn't really helpful. At work I have no choice but personal I switched to Affinity. For videos I use Davinci Resolve (a lot better than Premiere in my opinion and while it's complex it offers so many features even in the free version). When it comes to Adobe Acrobat, I haven't found an alternative either. I'd actually need something similar to Acrobat because I need a lot of functions for pre-print processing. If you find something, I'd love to know!

I come to Affinity Photo from GIMP and Inkspace. I love them both, but Affinity Photo is more complete. Plus, as I get stronger and have additional needs that they don't handle, I don't have to deal with Adobe. Does anyone need the hammer maker telling him that the house he built belongs to the company because he used a hammer from that company? What took you so long?? I replaced Adobe with 3rd party software over a decade ago, starting with the Foxit PDF reader, which back then, took up about 2MB of HDD space, compared to around 100MB for Adobe Reader.

The other thing that is REALLY bad about CapCut is: it is bad at multi-track video editing. Like, REALLY bad. And the audio (when exporting) is limited to 192kbps AAC which, while not COMPLETELY terrible, is not great. :/

I do a lot of packaging and marketing design in the music industry, Adobe is the standard. What’s the chances of these free apps being compatible with Adobe apps? Can affinity be edited in Indesign? Etc.

Simple question - if want to capture people's facial expressions and fast action/movements in low light... let's say ...sort of "urban activities" street photography :D - situations where you don't have that much time to prepare for shots. is a modern full frame worth it? let's say a6700 vs a7c2 type of deal...? - might also document a rave or two, so dark environment filled with smoke... will the difference be noticeable?

I did not want to buy yet another device that is linked to just one software package so I decided to build my own jog wheel. Being an electronics engineer not the most difficult job for me. But after adding a lot of macro keys, I still have a problem deciding what functions to put on all the keys but the ripple trim ones are indeed a must for me to add.

I recently adapted a Mamiya 45 2.8 medium format lens onto my Canon R5 II with the KIPON 0.7x focal reducer and it gives the compression of a 45mm with the field of view of a 31mm. Although you have to manual focus it is well worth the unique image you will get with it.

For a "static" youtube video the fps does not really matter to me, but for a video where the background moves everything below 60fps looks jerky and "old". Movies and TV series filmed with 60fps looks superior. Yes, 24/30fps looks more "cinematic", but it is a good thing? More realistic is better - and that is true for framerate too. Low rates just does not look realistic. If I had to choose, I rather increase the fps than resolution. There is just something wrong with high resolution videos shot with "low framerate". At least for me.
