Oh that is so lovely. I don't usually go for paler colors, prefering gem tones. But the subtlety of these shades is wonderful.

I love that the world's first novel was written by a woman. I wonder if it's available as an audiobook?

This was a wonderfully informative video. I have a few questions which I am hoping someone might be able to answer. 1) how are the chopsticks supposed to be washed? I presume they should not be placed in an American dishwasher, given their delicate nature and being primarily made of wood 2) I understand that placing the chopsticks on top of a plate signals you are done eating. What is the etiquette if you need to leave the table and you are not done eating? I saw some ceramics on a table that looked like chopstick holders, perhaps to keep them from rolling off the table. I would feel nervous letting the section of my utensil that touches food being placed directly on the table while I step away. 3) Do people expand their chopsticks to be used as holders for other things? For example, I can imagine a custom chopstick forming the long base of a calligraphy tip or paintbrush holder or a variety of delicate tools. If the dimensions of chopstick bases are standardized, then any number of implants could be added or changed to the end whole the user still displays the chopstick artwork with great pride. Such expansion of uses seems consistent with the Japanese way of life focusing on reducing waste and maximizing usefulness while remaining beautiful and creating joy. To anyone venturing to answer my questions, thank you in advance.

Each kimono in that layering is lined I think I counter 10-12 layers. So 20-24 layers of gossamer silk.

All those lovely layers! They must be extremely thin fabrics. Tale of Genji was part of my high school's World Literature course. The teacher was wise and avoided most European lit in favor of other cultures and countries.

Somethings off with the sound. Using headphones, most of the sound is only right, while some voices are left.

This video brings back lots of memories of my childhood (in 1970s😆).
