hey there, yes the gears are short but you are not revving the machine! shifting should occur at around 7-8k rpm! have a great day!

On a gravel road in 4th gear at 60 km/h, you will never wish that your Versys-X has more power.

I have the same bike, it max out at 160, it run at high rev's, and is made for running st such high rev's. To say it max out at 130 is ridiculous.

Good for you that yours maxes out at 160 but mine maxes out around 130. And there is nothing ridiculous about saying that, you can find similar findings in other bike reviews such as this one: www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/bikes/kawasaki/versys-x-300-2017-used.

@@martinsmotorbikestuff2478 I think you should look at your bike, there is something wrong. I often ride long distances with mine and without noticing I go 140km/hrs comfortably. I try to ride at 130, I think that is ideal for the long rode. My weight is 60kg, but even with luggage, it never struggle. If I drive 120km/hrs it just began to enter the power band rev's, at about 7 000rev's /min.

Sorry, I don't take bike repair advice from KZbin mechanics, I had it serviced by the Kawasaki dealership (which never found anything wrong with it by the way).

Very nice to ride there. Made many kilometers there :) First days 'carefully', but it gets fun when you get used to the hills and roads. Toeristenweg XXL ;)

I almost bought that bike just for the color in 2019. Something about it just talks to me. There's a 2020 at a local deal in that color... I check the ad every few days thinking I should bring it home.
@martinsmotorbikestuff24783 жыл бұрын
If you still find yourself thinking that by, let's say, Tuesday this week, you should probably go over to the dealer and check how eager they are to sell that thing before the end of 2020. You might get a nice quote! And the colour is somewhat rare, might make it hard for them to sell, but you will always recognise your bike in these oceans of white/blue/red/gold HP-trim GSAs that you find everywhere...

Good review in general but.. The sound was poor, sounded like you were in a washing machine. The video quality was a little blurry in places 720p doesn't quite cut it. Did not tell us what spec bike it was and what comes on that spec... How where the mirrors? Does it have cruise control or heated grips? What are the brakes like? What tyres comes as standard? What colors , other than red can you get it in? ETC,,,, Also... Got to love when bmw owners with big bikes get on a smaller bike, they always compare it, why? This bike wasn't brought out to compete with the big 1200 boxer so why compare it. You may as well get in a VW golf and compare it to the Range Rover you always drive around in. People dont want to know how it compares to a bike they are not interested in. All i got from this 'review' was not bad but not as good as my £25k RT Just a few pointers :)

I'm sorry that my review didn't quite meet your expectations, but I'm sure somewhere out there on KZbin you will find one that does. It may not have the words "SHORTEST review on KZbin" in the title though :-)

Nice one. I’ve done the same on my Honda. Stops stones and crap piling onto the engine. Is it just “fashion” that dictates a short guard?
@martinsmotorbikestuff24783 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response, been busy and away for holidays (poor me, hehehe). You may have hit a spot there, fashion probably dictates a lot of impracticalities on motorbikes these days. Fancy space frames that make springs and shocks unreachable (and thus uncleanable), high end cans that are in the way of luggage and fancy looking LED lights that costs a king's ransom to replace when broken. And they DO break. Maybe I should have bought a CB750 in the early 80's and kept it, sigh...
@AfricaTwin-Stuff4 жыл бұрын
That looked like an excellent training day. All of us “old bikers” could do with a day like that from time to time.

Absolutely agree and it is fun to do too!

Yes. I enjoyed it. Nice to see a “real world” experience from a normal rider rather than experts riding at 10 10ths and never having a mishap. By the way, nice barrel roll. It’s score it 9/10 for style.

And the small things that may fit under the seat, can easily disappear in the dark corners under the silver cover.
