Nice one. I’ve done the same on my Honda. Stops stones and crap piling onto the engine. Is it just “fashion” that dictates a short guard?

Sorry for the late response, been busy and away for holidays (poor me, hehehe). You may have hit a spot there, fashion probably dictates a lot of impracticalities on motorbikes these days. Fancy space frames that make springs and shocks unreachable (and thus uncleanable), high end cans that are in the way of luggage and fancy looking LED lights that costs a king's ransom to replace when broken. And they DO break. Maybe I should have bought a CB750 in the early 80's and kept it, sigh...
