Thank you! Yes our impromptu Utah KZbin’r meet up! 🤣 Devin is a great person and I’m honored to know him. It was just supposed to be me and Steve but everyone was out there! Jay and Dustin were on the other side of the ridge at Hidden Lake! Ash had tickets to the USAF air show with the Grandparents is the only reason I didn’t bring him. The fishing on this one was the best I’ve had so far this year! Thank you for watching! 🙏

Thank you! I love when they come out with me! Yes the coffee grounds in the filter worked. It had to steep like tea with the lid on, overall it was some of the best tasting coffee I’ve had backpacking. Like my wife said (and I did- I admit nothing! 🤣) if you don’t squeeze the bag with the grounds it stays in tact. Is it the fastest coffee you can make backpacking? Absolutely not. Was it one of the best flavors and coffee I’ve ever had definitely. I want to try them with an espresso grind to see if it would steep a little bit better than the grounds. It was a first try, gonna keep working on it. It was a late start out there this year, but it’s been fun to be out there! Thanks for watching! Tell Tim I said hi! 👋

Didn't you run into Trouthowler and Waterlog on this trip? I think I may have run into you 7 or 8 years ago up Swift Creek drainage. I think we were near Deer Lake. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. I got home from a day trip in the uintas last night at 10:30, watched your video and hit the sack. I've glad that you landed some dandies. Been to all of the lakes you visited and glad that the one brookie lake is producing this year. I have been there four times with mixed results and the largest fish was probably around 11". Fire lake has never been hot for me but it has plenty of big cutts, some going well over three pounds which you can crusing around the small inlet. I was on the Cliff lake trail three weeks ago and had to turn back at Watson because of the snow. I stopped at Cliff on the way back and fished for an hour right off of the trail and landed four tigers ranging from 1.5 pounds up to a 19" tiger which weighed at least three pounds. Go figure. I would be interested in you giving us a more detailed explanation of your astro photography and and what you are seeing. It looks cool but I don't understand it fully. You are like Clint Eastwood. You made my day.

Thank you so much! Island has been hit or miss for me over the years. This year it had some nice fish! I’ve never been up to that small lake till this trip, so nice it was worth the hike! Neat to see May catch her first fish! I’ve only caught Tigers in Fire Lake from that boulder on the south end. Water was so high this year much of the shoreline trail is underwater. We used to hike Fire from Duck up the falls just a hair south of Duck. It a nice climb, and puts you right at the dam when you get to Fire Lake. That small lake above Fire used to have some aggressive 12” Cutts, but all we saw on this trip was dead fish and Salamanders. All in all it was a fun trip with Steve and Devin. Totally unexpected, as spontaneous as it could be. It really was a great reminder how fun the mountains can be with friends. I go solo a lot, but a trip with good friends is special. My night photography is a collection of long exposures captured over a period of time, then either made into still photography, or as a collection made into timelapse movies. I have a college degree in photography and I shoot all my astro stuff with my Nikon D810. I may do some tutorials down the road, but I’d rather be out there while I’m still able and be behind the lens capturing these amazing night skies I get to see! That Milky Way timelapse is one of my new favorites! Thank you so much for watching!

@@ChristianPaulPhotography Your photography is beautiful. I've been up to Fire many times on the trail from Duck lake. It has gotten progressively worse with downed trees and lots more vegetation. I tried that in 2022 and lost the trail. And if you can't follow the trail, you can get in areas where you can't get back down to the lake. I don't have gps so I got out the geological survey map and figured it out. All of the fish I saw in 2022 were about 16-17 inches and about two pounds. And Junior lake had no fish in 2022 either. The DWR only planted tigers there because cutthroat were unobtainable for a period of time.
@ChristianPaulPhotography
@ChristianPaulPhotography 20 күн бұрын
@davidbentley8092 thank you. Last time I caught a fish in fire lake was 2015. It was about a 16 inch tiger. Every time I’ve been back since I’ve caught nothing. I’ve seen them jump, but they have no interest in anything I throw at them. It’s still a beautiful lake, but not the fishery I remember.

Were you getting eaten alive by bugs out there? I'm trying to do some planning for the whole UHT and that's going to kind of change my packing list a little. I'm bringing a mini fishing pole with 2lb line. You think I should bump it up to 4lb? Great videos!

I'm happy to see you healthy and getting back to the uintas and providing us with another amazing video. There never has been any grayling stocked in either of those lakes. They are getting there through the connections. No grayling have been stocked in the uintas since 2021 because of a disease problem from where the DWR gets them. And nobody can convince me that George Strait is the Fireman because you are.

The mosquitoes 🦟 on the first day were minimal because the temps overnight were close to freezing. The second day they were there, but not swarming us like I’ve had in the past. Take a net and Picaridin. I saw a bear track on the way in as I showed in the video, but I never saw one. In this section of the Great Weatern trail I’ve only seen them on the very south end. I think the three carcasses we saw drew them to the area. Hang your food out of camp at night and no scents in the tent. If you do that you should be fine. Thanks for watching!
