hard start issue sounds like a fuel pump problem. As for the terrain response etc.. a failing ABS sensor can be a culprit. Scanning the car should tell you.

Put yourself together and fix your car (yourself). Try borrowing or get a NEW quality battery, and most electrical faults will go away. Delete any codes and do a proper service on Haldex, front ptu, rear diff, gearbox and engine. It'll cost you some oil, a couple of filters and a few o-rings and a few crushable metal washers. And a days fun under the car. Absolutely nothing difficult. These are actually good cars, but you cannot run them forever without any service. They are not Toyota's but on the other hand, they drive better than Toyota's. And maybe please clean it so 1.000.000 dog hairs won't sneak into the buttons. For example if you detect a faulty GPS signal, take carefully off the special cables and clean them, reconnect and if they don't work, reset the GPS DVD box under the seat. If not good, then go to service mode and look at reception. If bad, the GPS antenna is dead. A second hand one at fleabay will cost you very little money and is really easy to swap. Likewise most other systems. It's not Land Rover quality, it bad Ford quality. Go to Freel2.com (forum for Freelander 2) and familiarize yourself with the car better. It's really not that hard to work on the car. Good luck. Btw. I have the same. No faults. 245.000 kilometers and no worries. I do all service myself (at the street). Cheers.

Everything u say about owning an SUV is so true! My family car is a dark green 1993 Nissan Safari/Patrol with a manual and . Through the years it has acquired some cosmetic damage and wear but man it's very comfortable very pleasant to drive on... Shifts and steers nicely, suspension's got some nice damping as well. Even on rough terrain and high-incline slopes it plows through like no other. Can also hit up to 100+kph on the highways as well. Quite a beast of a car and I'd love to own one for myself someday

I know what’s wrong with your car not staying on until the second try…your auto start-stop system isn’t working right. The icon is lit up on your dash when you start it. It’s supposed to automatically turn your engine on and off in traffic to save gas Push that button down by that switch you were turning, it is that button that says “Auto/ Man”. Switch it to “Man”. That’s the auto start-stop. All this could be related to your electrical gremlins

If you're going to have a Land Rover, you definitely need a Land Rover specialist mechanic. They're nice cars to drive, but they sure do have a ton of electrical gremlins.

Same age as my dad's Freelander 2, you'll want to check for corrosion on the rear subframe and the front of the rear arches (open the back doors and pull back the plastic/rubber part), apparently both are quite common on these cars.

I agree with the other folks about the battery. Possible battery cable corrosion or new cables needed? Electronics are the worst to troubleshoot sometimes. Take care. Just subscribed. Cheers from the States.

An HDC fault and the possible wiring/electrical issues your having seems like it could be a bad battery, which is something that should be swapped first as theyre pretty cheap

So glad to see you back into some random car shenanigans! I used to love electrical diagnostic when I worked for dealerships I even had my ASE cert, seriously I would check your grounds, or earth I think Brits call it, clean up and re tighten all the major grounds like the batt and PCM (or main computer) ground! Good luck dude ✌️💯

Have you tried replacing the battery? It sounds too simple to solve any issues, but a worn out battery can really cause quite a few issues. The fuel gauge, engine temp gauge and my rpm gauge would sometimes be totally off until I replaced the battery when my car had starting issues.
@IlMemetor72
@IlMemetor72 13 күн бұрын
That doesn't seem like the battery- it wouldn't start at all, and if you jump started it, it'll immediately begin alternating current I believe- seems to be fuel delivery related- perhaps injectors or fuel pump. But then again, he did mention "electronics are dying" so maybe it could even be something cpu related
