my DIL also makes the same chuttney but she does not saute the ingredients. I love her chuttney too. I will try your method and will let you know how I liked it. I am posting from USA. Thanks.

Hello from Bangalore. Very nicely shown recipe. This is one of the many variations of our commonly made chutneys, which are paired with idli, dosa and also dishes like upma, different rice baths etc., and rotis like akki rotti, Ragi rotti or rava rotti. I appreciate how well you have captured this recipe, and suggest the following variations of the same recipe, which are also popularly paired with different types of dosa and idli. - in this recipe keep everything same except replace green chillies with dry red chillies (preferably the badging / Kashmiri chillies) and eliminate coriander leaves. Instead add few curry leaves. - keeping your recipe as it is, add freshly grated coconut as well. - combine the two suggested variations by adding coconut with groundnuts and roasted Channa, and adding dry red chillies instead of green chillies. No need for coriander. With these three slight modifications you have four variations of the chutney all of which will be very tasty. Just a small correction. While tempering we don’t add roasted Channa, but we use raw Channa dal along with head dal. The fragrance is better. Thank you for a nice video.
