3/8ths for a roman tub valve is not enough. The tub will take a hour to fill up.
@ultraplumbing4 күн бұрын
Are you speaking from experience? I ask because while we don’t do this type of thing very often, we have done it in the past and the faucet output had no noticeable difference. It was also running through a 3/8” Sloan thermostatic mixing valve and was inspected and passed. This may all be moot though because the tub in THIS video is used for storage and won’t be filled by this owner ever. 😂 The next time this particular job comes up I am going to make it a point to compare the flow before and after and I will include my findings in a video or short. We appreciate you watching and commenting though. Thanks so much!
@Altmechanic4 күн бұрын
On the concern for flow, when the reduced pipe is that short run it doesn’t really make much difference in flow (GPM) now if both 3/8 line was 48 or 60 inch long u would see a more noticeable difference in GPM

The 3/8” supply part? 😂 I knew I would get flack for that. I’m aware the manufacturer will always call for 1/2” and so does code but in my experience in most cases the drop in volume is negligible when switching to 3/8”. But I’m going to explore this and the next time I have an opportunity I will set it up both ways and compare the precise flow at the fixture and share it all in a video. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment though. We appreciate you!

If the septic line is fine, there are no clogs, and we have had the same pipes for ages….why would my toilet all the sudden be doing this? I think it’s because of the vent on the roof. It may have some mice, birds, or leaves .

I’m really disappointed about it and didn’t realize it until someone else mentioned it. The joint was checked thoroughly several times and had no issues though. If you watch at the part where the fitting is tapped on it actually scraped the paint off as it seated. I’m thinking that was the save here because the solder took very well. The customer doesn’t know it yet but his 1 year warranty just turned into about a 5 or 6 year warranty because I ain’t going out like that. 😂 If it has an issue I’m fixing it. I think it’s fine though. Anyway, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
