The eel doesn't need that high of a ph. Curious to know why your tank is at 8.2 instead of 7.2 to 7.5. The will still thrive. Good luck with the eel. They almost always die

Nice tank man but 99% of the time Africans and Americans dont mix, they might at first but as they get bigger fights will break out in tbe tank. Ive tried many of times ti mix africans/Americans. I also have 9×3×3 tank

You did everything right but at the end you dumped the fish store water in your tank, after you acclimate always net the fish and remove the old water still in bag it can and allways does contain pollutants you don't want in your tank... just a suggestion ✌️ very cool eel!!

You posted a video before about a Malawi tank with a fire eel in it and I'm wondering how you fed it. I have a 55 gallon Malawi tank with haps, peacocks, mbuna, and synodontis catfish that's completely peaceful with no territories and chasing and I am planning to add a fire eel. A fire eel's diet consists of bloodworms, brine shrimp, and other high protein foods which the Mbuna can't eat due to Malawi bloat. Given that the fire eel requires more protein than the cichlids in the tank, how did you feed Mr. Lee without messing up the other Mbuna's diets?

Oscar Peralta that's a very good question 👍. So I taught my fire eel to eat out of my had he was feed blood worms and talapia or hake , all things I could feed to him and most only him. So I see you syno which is a cat fish which you know. But cat fish and eels don't do so well together, my next concern is your tank size. A fire eel is in my opinion a monster fish as it grow 3-4ft so your 55gallon will not be a suitable home for your fire eel.
