I know Shaw is meant to be the main villain here. But I don’t think people realize how evil the diesels are here. Rodrick and the others are literally going out murdering all the steam engines that they are told to, or taking them to the scrap yards where they are “Lined up to be Killed”. They also don’t believe that steam engine deserve to live simply because they are a hindrance to British Railways, kind of like they think that diesels are the “Supreme Locomotive Types”. It’s almost like the diesels are quite literally the “Train Nazis.” And Diesel 10 is… well I think we know who.
