After testing every bike in the middleweight and heavyweight ADT category this year, the 900GTPro was the only one I didn’t want to hand back at the end of the test. So I bought one! The handling is sublime and I always get off the bike with a big grin on my face. You can flick the bike through the hairpins in the mountain passes with ease. I’ve ridden it down to Mallorca and back: it makes a super touring bike - the engine heat was a problem in the hotter climate, but its a problem on any bike over 250cc in the Med climate. (That’s one of the reasons why scooters are so popular in Spain). The 900 is easy to park and hand manoeuvre in tight spots. I’m averaging near 60 mpg - which is impressive for such a fast bike.

Nice video!! Was it not POSITION's 1, 2 and 3, rather than lane 1, 2 & 3? I know of RoSPA and IAM riders who have stated they learned something from Bikesafe Workshops! None of us ever have the perfect ride, so constant evaluation of your own riding is essential to staying as safe as possible!! Along with Saccadic Masking, Camouflage is also something to consider, we can easily blend into the background and be difficult to see.
@DazmatronMotorcycleTripsАй бұрын
@dave-ef2fd thanks Davd. Yes, you're right I meant position 1,2 & 3. The Bikesafe workshop is a worthwhile thing to do & very good value. The auction of these two incredible motorcycles with unique provenance were be sold by auction through Bonhams Cars Motorcycles at the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show on 12th and 13th October 2024 in Staffordshire (UK). The successful bidders secured the #003/250 Scrambler 1200 Bond Edition, and the #001/250 Tiger 900 Bond Edition (being offered in separate lots). Both motorcycles are hand signed by Daniel Craig on each side. They were sold with the original V5C documents bearing Daniel Craig’s name, as well as a certificate of authenticity signed by both Daniel Craig and Triumph Motorcycles’ CEO, Nick Bloor. Each lot also included a riding experience at the Triumph Adventure Experience in Wales, UK with James Bond stunt co-ordinator Lee Morrison and stunt double Paul Edmondson. Daniel Craig said: “The RNLI has been close to my heart all my life since growing up near the RNLI station at Hoylake. I have incredible memories of going afloat with the RNLI crew at Ramsgate to experience first hand what it’s like to be part of the organisation that has saved over 146,000 lives since starting up over 200 years ago. I am honoured and immensely proud to support the RNLI and hope the auction of Triumph’s Limited Edition Bond motorcycles proves popular. The riding experience with Lee Morrison and Paul Edmondson adds another unique and exciting dynamic to the lots. I worked with Lee on Casino Royale, all the way through to No Time To Die; the opportunity is not to be missed and will help raise funds for the truly lifesaving cause that is the RNLI.”

Good review! I had the GT when it first came out. Took it over Europe and it wasn't the most comfortable!. So then got a V-Strom 1050 and whilst that has more comfort, after 2 hrs riding, your bum twitching again!. The other thing with the Strom is the quick shifter is no-where near as smooth as the GT (probably due to the engine characteristics ?). Anyway, im seriously considering a GX with a comfort seat. It ticks all my boxes.

I think that's a sensible decision if you are long distance touring going for the GX from the other bikes you mention. The GX still has all the power with that engine but it's adaption from the GT to a more rider comfort with its up right riding position, pegs, bars & seat I think you should find it better especially with a comfort seat.
