Thanks for this video - yes, sticking with my R1250GS Triple Black (I call her "Black Betty"). Sure - there's a bit of new tech on the 1300, but the 1250 has more than enough. The suspension is awesome, Brembo brakes all round, Akrapovic pipe and just looks awesome. I still think she looks better than the 1300. It's a bigger bike than the 1300, but I'm 188cm (about 6'2") so it really doesn't bother me. If I really wanted the Blind Spot monitoring It's available after market. I really don't like the rear lighting on the 1300 - it doesn't seem as effective to me as the 1250.

Thanks for your reply MKA, I was thinking actually even if I won 23k on a lottery ticket?! Would I upgrade to the 1300? I'm not actually sure, I agree the 1250 looks better, the 1300 did actually feel like a 900 as it's slimmer & lighter & just doesn't have the same presence the 1250 has. If I had the radar on the GS it might have helped me last year when 3 cars emergency braked in front of me! I'll look into that. Yep the lighting too is not great on the 1300 either totally agree. Long may you tear up the miles on ''Black Betty'' 👍

@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips I hope you were ok after the 3 cars emergency braking. It seems so because you are still putting out videos! I still can't believe that the amount of rear lighting was reduced for the 1300. Seems like it may have been a financial decision and not a safety decision. Anyway - just repeating - great video, and ... Greetings from Australia. Black Betty and I have subscribed!

I was surprised you was thinking of changing the GSX 1400, it's a lovely looking bike keep hold of it if you can.

Hi Ali, watch the 2nd vid to see what I ended up doing??

I am glad you kept the GSX it's such a lovely bike. I don't know so much about Italian bikes but cars look nice but are not so good on electric and body work.

Reliability i think was an issue years ago but they produce some quality bikes now & some awesome looking bikes too. I loved the Multistrada test ride I did. Ducati have said they will remain a premium brand this demanding higher prices for the privilege. Moto GP rider Bagnaia has just shattered the lap record at Lusaka on a Ducati!!

It was an easy decision to make picking the 1250. Yes the Gixer is a keeper for now, good job I can't afford the Monster as well otherwise I'd need a garage extension!

I am really glad you have kept you 1400 👍 I have just bought a bmw 1250 Adventure from Roy Pidcock it’s a fab bike. And my gsx1400 I have still got I love the bike will never get rid. You have made the same choice I have 👍👍

@@andrewmason2879 coincidence that! I got my GS from Roy Pidcocks too. Yep the Gixer definitely isn't going. If you're Midlands based I'll always be up for a ride 👍

@@andrewmason2879 My GS purchase from BMW Pidcock's was a bit underwhelming back in 2021, the staff member was working full time but wasn't allowed to work part time so left completely in the end. I turned up on the big day to collect the bike & in short was just given the keys & that was that. Hopefully it's changed now then but I'm going to stay with BMW Motorrad Northampton. They are having a big re-build with a 1st floor of bikes as well. I was told it's been chosen by BMW for a rebuild due to it's high sales I think they said it had the 3rd biggest sales turnover in the UK.
