Orange Glider! I am a new fan! Have you covered the band "Yes, mama OK?" Or Roboshop Mania? I've loved them for a long time now and No one knows them.

A great band. I bought a ton of their albums through discogs but man is it expensive. When I managed to go to tower records in Japan, I only found Domino and purchased it immediately. Luckily I have all the roundtable/nino albums already so not disappointed when I didn't find more albums at tower records. I'd personally like to see more big wave come from Roundtable with Nino included of course. Big wave sunset was amazin and so were songs from Big wave 2000! (really loved some of the covers they did)

Not exactly Orange Lounge but (IIRC) still Tomosuke but Chocolate Philosophy is a real banger and wish it were in more Bemani games.

one of the best japanese band I still like listening to their old CD albums, kinda underrated band~ they also used to inspire my music compositions so much, with my band "Ozone Inc" long time ago..:") - from Indonesia -

Kinda sad knowing that they didn't achieve a big commercial success and they eventually made it on their own respective solo project after they breakup. I'm a big fan of Cymbals, now I tried to collecting all of their physical release mostly on CD format and keeping the legacy so they will never be forgotten

This may be a controversial take, but as much as I love & respect Mariya Takeuchi, I wouldn't actually classify the majority of her discography as "City pop". Aside from Plastic Love and a few other iconic tracks, I'd say most of her music just falls under the category of standard Japanese adult-contemporary music. And that's perfectly fine, there's nothing wrong with that. It's just not the same as city pop.

lol I watched two of your videos about Round Table and Pizzicato 5 and I wondered why were you talking about the bands I like. So I decided to find some info about The Cymbals because I was curious about what happened with them, and there you again, lol. Hope you will make a video about Rocky Chack.

I find them pretty mediocre to be honest, there is so much better music coming from Japan, but I guess the youtube algorithm made its job and westerners wanting Japanese bands to sound 100% like they are Western bands too instead of enjoying the unique sounds of Japanese music did the rest

Loving all your videos! Who knew the history of Shibuya-kei was so interesting. Have you thought of creating a discord server for people to gather and share information? Could be cool. Personally, I have a lot of unanswered questions about a bunch of artists and it might be helpful to have a place where an active community can gather to share and talk Shibuya-kei.❤️

"Sweet Soul Revue" by Pizzicato Five was such a big hit in the Philippines back then, all thanks to the _Ranma 1/2_ and surprisingly, that song still hits the radio to this day (alongside with Go Go Dancer). For me (as someone who is a sucker to bossa nova and jazz music), Pizzicato Five is the reason why I got introduced to Shibuya Kei/Picopop genre and got me searching deeper into their discography.

I’m a huge shibuya-kei fan and I’m so glad to see it being talked about more. It’s such a beautiful underrated genre. I recommend one shibuya-kei band called Pictogram Color, as they are extremely underrated and I love their self-titled album. However, there’s barely any info on them online. I hope your channel continues to grow!

Great video, its nice to see people more interested in classic Konami artists. Sadly Konami nowadays is very strict with their musicians and they are no longer allowed to release their own albums so we will never see a sequel to TOMOSUKE's marble or Asaki's 3rd album.
