I'm running a very similar setup. Full delete, no swivel flaps, new turbo cartridges, and a stage 2.5. It's an absolute beast! Someone put a different muffler on mine before I got it. I don't know what brand. It looks generic and is smaller and more round than the factory suitcase. I'm not going to change it because it sounds really good and was well installed. I just don't know what it is. Every time I fire it up on a parking lot, everyone looks around to see where that sound is coming from. No one thinks it's the slick little Bimmer.

I'm facing the same problem but it is not the fuse, It was not blown, also when I press the button to open it doesn't make any sound, what else could be the issue?

What was your biggest mistake? Do you have a 40D or just a 30D? What else did you do to the engine? Did you delete the EGR as well? Swivel flaps? Did you upgrade the turbo? or just deleted dpf and bigger exhaust pipe?

I opened up the glove box, replaced the led and put back the original ugly bulb and changed the fuse, done deal!

You have to remove the physical filter. That way the motor can breathe.

Ok, sounds like a truck & a great way to attract the attention of the police. Just rolling past them, they'd know it's been modified. Not sure about the US, but here in Australia, if anyone gets busted having removed/deleted DPF or any other emissions control, you face huge fines of up to $25,000.

Thankfully, in all but a few places, America is still mostly a free country. You might get nicked in Commiefornia, but they're a little busy mopping up literal fecal matter from their socialist policies. They don't have much time for petty enforcement anymore. You guys need to re-embrace that grit we all thought you Aussies had and heel your Orwellian government down. Great video, sure N57s emission stuff is slightly better but core engine itself is riddled with issues. N57s are notorious for snapping timing chains after 90k miles, rod bearing issues if followed BMWs idiotic extended oil change intervals of 12.000M-18.000M depending on your location, main bearing problem if ran too long with stretched timing chain and/or damaged harmonic balancer. To make it all worse, timing chain is in the back of the engine so its either an engine or transmission out job.

Yes it's a good machine, I use Optimum No Rinse (ONR) in my bucket and it cuts down on potential water marks

Just depends on your tolerance. I grew up around farm equipment and diesel trucks so it doesn’t bother me, kinda like it

I wonder if the diesel smell is the result of the swirl flap delete which would cause it to run less efficient at idle. Thanks for the vids. Glad you are enjoying the x5. It is a wonderful machine.

IMO, the diesel smell is much less noxious than the clogged DPF/CAT smell. That old ammonia smell is rancid.

Glad you found it useful. I am a strong believer in preventative maintenance. Talking points with the M57, post delete. -Valve Cover Gasket -Vacuum lines -Center Rain Tray Partition -Thermostat will stick open, and can reduce the life of emission components from vehicle not getting up to temperature -Harmonic balancer -Belts / Idler Pulley / Tensioner -Intercooler seals - All fluids, transmission fluid is not lifetime A lot of it is vehicle dependent and service history. Buying one that says dealer maintained is not actually a positive IMO. They run close to 11,000 miles oil change intervals. Join the Facebook group (North American BMW Diesel Owners Group) Lots of info there

Mine is not equipped with the cold weather package from the factory. In order for the heated function to work, I would have had to have purchased a different clock spring and found a power source. It’s possible at some point I might get the feature to work.
