Sorry to be critical here, but your mortise on the edge of the door is much too sloppy and too deep to be acceptable. Same goes for the crude mortise holding the strike plate on the jamb. I've been hanging doors and installing their hardware for 43 years. You need to put away the chisels and learn how to make your own router jigs (or purchase them) and machine in the mortises for a tidy fit. You'll be much happier with the results which are consistent from one door to the next, and your customer will be satisfied as well. If I were paying you for this job, I would reject what I see here.

Q’s: how do you determine the length of the pencil attached to the marking-stick? Did you use 2-pcs b/c of limited material length?
@grungus Жыл бұрын
Length of the tread, and then he goes back with another marking stick the length of the riser height plus the thickness of the tread.

Solid work! I'd recommend looking at getting a rubber mallet for hitting the material. Great job!

Why would you do that? Leave your framers a note “need to hv a 7/8” gap between stair and drywall”. Drop skirt board in. And nail off ; of course you hv to find your angles I use a digital level make by Stabila! U loose money doing it that way?

A good video about how to strip a table saw and its woodworker out of all safety measures…in these cases, normally when a regret happens it is already too late. It is your life buddy I know but it is a bad example for all others that do not know any better and the stats/probabilities are against you…

@sixpotshot2 жыл бұрын
@@jeffreyellman5016 There is nothing impressive about the video: it is a dangerous demonstration - this is not about police and policing but about the need to show correct and safe practices on public media to make sure people who don't know better don't follow unsafe practices and methods and don't end up in A&E requesting our care... I know you weren't not talking about safety! That is the point!
@jeffreyellman50162 жыл бұрын
@@sixpotshot I get it and agree that safety is very important, but that doesn't diminish the fact that regardless of the absence of safety practices here, the workmanship is impressive. Maybe you can appeal to KZbin to post a safety disclaimer on these types of videos.
