breaking down zach hill drumming is amazing. Thanks for making this.

I play a 20". Adding just 2" to the diameter will increase the volume of the drum ~20%. As far as I'm concerned bass drums over 22" in diameter went out with the big bands. I think 20" is a happy medium, and it does not require a riser.
@sorelbaid Жыл бұрын
Agreed. I’ve been playing a 20 on my main kit for as long as I can remember. I don’t trust risers on certain gigs and 20 just fits the bill for about everything.
@johnnystaccata Жыл бұрын
@@sorelbaid Dave Tough is largely credited as initiating smaller bass drums with a 20" bass drum he requested from Gretsch in the 40s. He was commuting to gigs by taxi cab at the time,.
@alanduncan1980 Жыл бұрын
It's a good kit for those "intimate" gigs, when a 20 inch kick drum is simply too big to fit on the stage. 🙄

Or when you’re playing a sunday brunch jazz/bossa nova gig in a room with high ceilings and marble floors at whisper volumes.

I mostly just post weird stuff on Instagram. Hoping to settle back in to putting more videos up here; I’ve been working 6-7 days a week all this last year. Thanks for the kind words and for tuning in!

I think that it would be better to put on the pedal and point to us where is the problem.. from your video i didn't understand if this is a manufacturing defect or it was your fault that caused that .. i'm looking to buy a drum set and doing a little research to 3 models that i'm considering and you are the only one who is complaining about that.

They're reuniting :) I became a fan around 2004 and saw each incarnation once, starting with the Elkan/Hischke lineup. Also saw the Advantage a couple times I think. The Devil Isn't Red was a total game changer, I was completely obsessed with that album when it came out

Hey bro, just ordered a Midtown today. I am in Thailand and looks like 16" bass drum heads impossible to buy. Are you saying a 16" pinstripe tom head will fit on the Midtown 16" bass drum (Kick / batter side) ?
