Oh my goodness. I think you just found my new favorite yarn company. I agree with you about that color of red from knotty pine. That is my shade and my husband's favorite color. My favorite colors are literally everything they have showing in their shop right now. I'm also bursting with yarn but it would be lovely if I could use a bunch of this coming year and then be able to ask for some of this as gifts for my birthday and the holidays. Gorgeous. This is a new goal. I want to reduce my stuff and be more mindful about my own colors. I think color would be the perfect word I focus on for next year.

I love the stocking patterns, the colors, textures…they are all beautiful! The bells you found to go with them really sets them off. 🔔 Also your thrift finds are so wonderful! In thinking about what my fave treasure is, it’s a toss up between the wrapping papers and the plates. I too enjoy wrapping gifts. I try to buy and wrap my gifts early so I can have time with all the gifts under the tree. A variety of papers and adornments really makes the packages look pretty under the tree.

That picture on the piece of wood is by Tasha Tudor, famous artist and illustrator, who is very worth looking up if you are not familiar. She was fabulous and interesting. I actually got to meet her once. You found a treasure!

We always had huge stockings too! It's still a big deal in our family even now that we all have our own families. The adults now draw names at Christmas dinner for whose stocking they need to fill for the next year. Stockings are serious business in our family. I love these patterns. Somebody may be getting a stocking in their stocking this year!!

I love getting things for my kids’ stockings. They’re all grown but I still do it. I’d love ideas of what types of things you put in yours. I do a lot of the same things every year.

My husband refuses to do Christmas or birthdays but I enjoy them. Last year when I put up our tree he requested that I make all of the ornaments so I did make probably 85% of them. Tree still sat bare underneath but at least I felt like he enjoyed the tree. Keeps me from getting down. We don’t have any friends or family here so I feel like it’s very important to at least try. I love thrifting and it looks like you found some amazing things! Congratulations on your pattern, I can’t wait! 🌻

I love that they are BIG. They will look great on the fireplace and my family are all stocking lovers too so they will automatically be a hit. I know I am late to the party. My Christmas tree is loaded with my hand made ornaments. I use Styrofoam balls and decorate them with ribbons, beads, sequins, fabric roses, buttons and found objects. I got the idea from VICTORIA magazine years ago and enjoy making them even now. Blessings for your holiday.makings. Nancy D.

I watched this a second time because even for this older grandma who knits slower and often feels pressure to finish things or do more knitting after I watch other knitting podcasts who have multiple garments completed each month. You have encouraged me to breathe in and knit without pressure, enjoy my long walks with my pup, work, enjoy my kids and grandkids, involvement at my church and enjoy time in my kitchen preparing food for myself and others even as a widow. Oh my grandkids would love Hedwig as they are all fans of Harry Potter. Next I am making the toothpaste!

Wow! I am so in tune with you. I am also trying to get myself to pick up and Finish a vest I am working on for my dad. I finished the front, but I have procrastinated greatly on finishing the back. I have also decided not to knit gifts for Christmas this year. I hope to knit a cardigan for myself. I just want to eliminate the stress that comes with the season. I will not have any guilt about my stash, however. I just love being able to dive into my stash when inspiration hits. Thank you for all the inspiration! Congratulations on your first pattern!

Love the stocking patterns coming soon! I made strawberry freeze jam during the strawberry season. I will be giving this along with homemade granola. I have been making homemade chocolate sauce for a few years and people expect it now. It stays fresh in the frig for about a year also. Can be heated up in the microwave and served over ice cream. Especially good over the holiday peppermint stick ice cream. If desperate it is great eaten right out of the jar with a spoon. 😜

A hand made gift suggestion - I came across a raspberry cordial recipe on Pinterest and gave a bottle of that to people a few years back. It worked beautifully with soda, but also as a dessert jus or topping. I found a recipe for coffee syrup, too, that I think would work nicely for the coffee addicts in your life. Other gifts I’ve given have been small Christmas decorations - I made some with a combination of white glue and corn starch, rolled out and cut with round cookie cutters, and then I pressed rosemary leaves in such a way that the impressions look like reindeer antlers. I loved them.
