Loving "Take My Hand", I can visualize the congressional hearing, having experienced the state version of that. Great read!

I agree about THE MAIDENS. It made me feel that the author needed to write a second book quickly after the wonderful THE Silent PATIENT. Anxious to see my thoughts on THE FURY. Also I have read two fiction books that took place during Covid. I agree that it took me right back to how I felt during that time and it wasn’t a good feeling. I don’t think enough time has passed since that drastic change in our lives. Think I may have to wait a decade or more 😜. Don’t know if you have read WEST WITH GIRAFFES. Our Book Club really enjoyed this fiction based on fact. Love your podcast on knitting and now on books. Thank you.

I too am very much looking forward to reading James- the author, Percival Everett, is coming to my local bookstore here in Cincinnati this month 🎉🎉🎉 Last year I read Demon Copperhead and I was absolutely obsessed with it. It is sooo well done. Then had to watch every David Copperfield adaptation to watch. The audio version of Demon was really superb. You have an amazing treat in store!!!

First time I listen to one of your reviews and ratings; most insightful thoughts. Love your reading that portions of There There…your original thinking on how we treat others resonates with me too. Having lived 74 years in North America from Mexico and attended UCLA at age 35 I saw and felt how we are judged on the color of our skin ( in my case). I will pick up the book by the 80 year old writer and I have There, There. Thank you. 🎉🌾

@@ThePineCottage Thank you, funny, after I retired I worked the official polling place in Los Feliz and there I was thanked for my service and felt accepted. 🎶

I loved Demon Copperhead. I also enjoyed the Silent Patient and The Maidens. I just bought a copy of Take my hand. I would so appreciate a heads up on the books. I use Libby for most of my reading. Thank you for this wonderful video. Yours will be my first book club. I’m excited about it.

I felt the same way about There, There. It's been awhile since I read it and it was so nice to hear you read a bit of it! Really deep, beautiful words. I wish it hadn't fizzled out...I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about his next one though! Fingers crossed :) How you spoke about the book of essays reminded me of my experience with Gift From the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh - have you read it?

There There was one I listened to rather than read, so I didn't take note of the change in writing style. I really loved it, but I am sure that if I had read the physical book I would feel similarly.
