Bangor is in no way a small airport... not even close... the runway is over 2 miles long, and it is common to see the Antanov 225 (largest jet in world) stop in for fuel... this happens ALL the time

Absolutely enjoyed the chainsaw whirl of the Tays and the zero degree t/o flap setting. I noticed the same setting on an Ocean Air F100 departure. Seems very normal for this aircraft. Cool vid; Cool sounds, Thank you!

@Keagkid Well, planes like this aren't very common at KBGR, but I wouldn't exactly say it's a small airport, it has a 2mile+ runway and has landed some pretty big planes like AN-225 and the like, and has KC-135's going to and from every day. As far as travel destination, it's pretty small. But as far as size and range of planes it can cater to, it's pretty large.

also if only takes 26mins to completly fill a 767, from the time the fuel truck arrives, i could FRA or MUC (who at this time has two flights a day) could have taken 20+ mins and topped her off.

True. Understandable. But you a/c don't have to have a slot to refuel or in this case top off the tanks. this a/c could have been filled on the ramp.

@UA901 I have heard of this happening on this flight more than once. My question is why wait and fly to Bagor. Why not stop in FRA,CDG,MUC,AMS,LGW,LHR where delta as operates flights non-stop to the USA? That way T/O from STR level off, then his FRA fill up and then to ATL.

Guessing from the dispirtion, this flight had to devert to Bagor ME, for a fuel stop then on to ATL, probably due to high winds at time of departure from STR, therefore, to be able to climb out over the mountains surrounding STR, the fuel level had to be reduced. Therefore the need to stop in Bangor, ME. This same thing happen to my sister, a few years back. Also the f/a mis-stated the flight number this was DL117 from STR-ATL

@thomaswolfgang81 Thomaswolfgang81. I understand you plain. Though I was born in the United States, after spending 10.5 years living in Stuttgart, I consider Stuttgart my "One True Home" and I was so upset when I had to move. I stay homesick and can't wait until I return.
