Guessing from the dispirtion, this flight had to devert to Bagor ME, for a fuel stop then on to ATL, probably due to high winds at time of departure from STR, therefore, to be able to climb out over the mountains surrounding STR, the fuel level had to be reduced. Therefore the need to stop in Bangor, ME. This same thing happen to my sister, a few years back. Also the f/a mis-stated the flight number this was DL117 from STR-ATL

@Airbasil Hey. I was pretty hard, but come on ya'll give to two guys up front a break, they'd had a long day. Smooth landing in Bangor though.

I have heard of this happening on this flight more than once. My question is why wait and fly to Bagor. Why not stop in FRA,CDG,MUC,AMS,LGW,LHR where delta as operates flights non-stop to the USA? That way T/O from STR level off, then his FRA fill up and then to ATL.
