@sstoxic426 a cad/cam casting is easier to set if it's perfectly drawn and cast but cast metal is soft. Handmade may be more expensive but it is always better!

Obvious question, but how is the linking piece removed from the clasp once inside? Is it literally the same as the entrance where you need to push in the clasp? Seems like it could be finnicky if the clasp was small and used in something like a necklace where it's done behind the neck
@jewellerytrainingsolutions9978Ай бұрын
@@maxwellb.4453 yes, I can’t deny it’s a bit finicky, but it’s worth it when you get it working

Peter, it seems like youdont fully flow your solder. Is this the case? I see balls of solder semi-melted and then you say, you'll pickle. Can you speak about this? Thank you.
@jewellerytrainingsolutions9978Ай бұрын
@@flyingcheff I take the heat off as soon as the solder flows through the joint. Over heating can cause solder pitting

The amount of patience that you exhibit is parallel and extremely necessary to be the jeweler that you are. Maybe im just too young, being impatient shows up in my intricate work like simple things that i shouldnt overlook as simple as remembering to anneal so metal doesnt stress or to tidy up with some emery after soldering prongs in place. I meditate and try to be as calm as possible before i start making a new piece or just getting stsrted for the day. Im 40, but young in my jewelry career and im also self taught so lots of things get pounded into thought by instruction when you're in a classroom. Ive found that you tend to throw those small hints out there and tips that i pick up on. Thanks for posting these videos, they help me out so much. I think you're an amazing jeweler and i hope to possess your level of skill 1 day. thanks and cheers!
