Vlad's a guy who appeared as though he had bullet proof confidence. Judging by his minor league numbers, he never once experienced a real struggle at the plate until he reached the show. My guess would be he never really had to develop coping mechanisms for self-doubt until then. It's been a steep learning curve as a result. He is dynamite when he has his mojo, but it's been MIA for a couple years. We can only hope he finds it again, otherwise the Jays will not be making any deeper runs into the playoffs.

It still boils down to quality pitching, can't out slug mistakes.

If you exclude his 2021 season his average OPS was .793, and 2021 was the *only* season in his career where he showed up to training camp without a spare tire. I'm not writing him off yet, but he's yet to show the mental maturity to perform and make adjustments to his game on a consistent basis; if he did his defense wouldn't have slipped so much last year.

it honestly wasn't a bad offseason but if they hadn't said "full throttle" maybe the fans wouldn't have been so mad. I still think it's stupid that people are saying sell the team though. This is a combination of bad luck and a bad fa market (for pitching) THIS offseason but not a core issue with the team in general. This is the red sox; they will spend little money this year and have the highest payroll in the league the next lol. This year their main plan seems to be to get the new coaching staff in order and fill some off their holes is the team along with drafting top pitching in June. Expect them to make a big splash next year when Walker B Burnes Bieber and soto are all FAs.

How good the Yanks will be is directly related to whether these mashers will be patient at the plate, or just try to hit it out of the galaxy with every swing. Soto might be the best hitter ever if he remains patient. His best years were down years relatively for his power numbers, but on base, slugging, and batting average were at the top of the league. It just sucks that he plays for the most hated team in baseball.

No doubt in my mind that this dude is a super star. No disrespect to Bo, but when Vladdy is right, he’s THE GUY. Had a shaky season, but he’s young and could easily be the best player on most MLB teams as is.

None of this matters when the Dodgers BOUGHT a lineup where 6 of the 9 batters are All-Stars and 3/5 starting pitchers are too, if Yamamoto becomes one. Baseball needs hard salary caps, not soft lenient ones.

Interesting video, I hate Bellinger because I’m a padres fan, but it’s nice he won’t be in the division for the foreseeable future.
