Great video! Hope he bounces back in 2024, if Bichette hits .300 like usual and Vladdy bounces back, hits .300 and hits 35 to 45 home runs we could make a run in the playoffs. Chapman is a big loss fielding-wise but Biggio can play anywhere, so hopefully he and the team pull through.

Bro why did this feel like one of his hockey videos? 😂 Love the channel, you honestly got me in to watching hockey in the first place, hope this channel can do well. As for Vlad, Dude has got to cut it on the strikeouts. I don’t know why he’s missing the barrel so much, he barely hits the sweet spot, and he’s bottom half in the league in chase percentage, while being mediocre at making contact with his swings in the zone. Somehow the jays have to improve his hand eye coordination. If they don’t, we could see an even worse year from Vlad from the two prior. According to savant, he was 96th percentile in expected batting average!!! 96!!! This is all while barely scraping an 800 ops. He got lucky and he was still only ok. Hope they can figure him out, this guys one of the best in the business when he’s swinging well, and it would be a treat for every baseball fan to see him hitting 40+ homers at rogers. Go padres!

I called his 2023. I made a bet with a friend of mine in fantasy BB that he wouldn't hit 30HRs or 100RBIs, and got a free draft pick out of it. I don't know why it was a surprise for everyone. If you exclude his 2021 season his average OPS was .793, and 2021 was the *only* season in his career where he showed up to training camp without a spare tire. I'm not writing him off yet, but he's yet to show the mental maturity to perform and make adjustments to his game on a consistent basis; if he did his defense wouldn't have slipped so much last year.

Vladdy and Bo both struggled. Biggio too, let's not forget. But they all struggled over the same thing. They stopped being themselves. Bo struggled defensively (To put it lightly), when he tried to be like HoF infielders. Last year, he stopped trying to play like them, and played what was natural for him, and he was so much better. Vladdy needs to stop batting the way he's told, and start batting the way he feels right. Stop trying to go for homers, he has the power, it'll come naturally. Swing comfortably, Swing accurately, and everything else will fall in.

@kranmaster
@kranmaster Ай бұрын
Vlad's a guy who appeared as though he had bullet proof confidence. Judging by his minor league numbers, he never once experienced a real struggle at the plate until he reached the show. My guess would be he never really had to develop coping mechanisms for self-doubt until then. It's been a steep learning curve as a result. He is dynamite when he has his mojo, but it's been MIA for a couple years. We can only hope he finds it again, otherwise the Jays will not be making any deeper runs into the playoffs.

Yankees have Judge and Soto in the lineup (insane) and the Mets have Diaz back and all the drama with Alonso's contact signing looming. the funniest part is vladdy isn’t a home run hitter. if you look at hitting metrics/his swing he’s just not a home run hitter he’s a line driver hitter. His batting average definitely didn’t reflect that but he gets so much slack for not hitting 35+ homers when people think he should but i’d rather see 30 homers and 115 rbi than 35+ homers and 90 rbi

I feel like Bo’s put in more work and been more focused on winning than Vladdy. Perhaps Vlad’s ceiling is higher than Bo’s, but he’s inconsistent. Bo plays a premium position with a fantastic bat and defense that has only been improving ever since he’s been in the majors. Vlad had a great season in 2021 but has declined ever since (understandably, but I digress). I have a lot more faith in Bo than Vladdy at this point. Prove me wrong tho Vlad.

What is Vlad? He is a disappointment so far, with only one season as an outlier he is a barely above average hitter who is overweight. More akin to Cecil Fielder than Miguel Cabrera. He is still “young” so there is time for him to become more than what he has been so far. Only time will tell.

Hey, I’ve been a blue jays fan my entire life and trust me, Vladdy is better than bo. Just bo had a better year, but to say that he is CLEARLY the face of the franchise is just wrong. I was expecting better knowledge from you Johnny. Anyway Vladdy is a superstar player but he hasn’t put in the work the past few seasons and he finally did this year so I’m predicting 50-60 HR season with 110-120 RBI.

@@rhyscartanhockey4291 I'm not actually arguing that Bo is the face of the franchise now. I still believe in Guerrero, and I believe that the stats pretty clearly suggest that he was hitting the ball far better than the results would imply. That being said, Bichette deserves credit for keeping his strengths strong and improving upon his weaknesses. His defense last year wasn't mind-blowing, but it was competent, which is a huge step in the right direction. If Vlad has another rocky season (relative to his potential), and Bo performs once again, I think the argument that Bo is now the face of the franchise will hold water.

They lost guys they should have kept (Merrifield). This team will finish 4th, maybe 5th in their division. It was a very weak offseason for Jay's management. Go Red Sox!!
