Steppenwolf had problems too. Mars bonfire wrote some of their stuff. They were doing their own then they flipped and hoyt axton was helping them. I just think youre got a real head wind against you if youre at the periphery. Where the middle bands like the beatles pulled in carpenters fans and stones fans both. Music is a hard business to read. .

It doesnt really make sense. You had a mamber of judas priest who came out as gay. You had the edgar winter group and alice cooper really had some bizarre crap too. Everybody thought preachers kid phenomenon out the ionoshere i guess. Prople i talked to said if he can rock the place i dont care less if hes gay. Little richard had a macho sound but he came out too clear back in the 50s. Squier wasnt gay ge had a girlfriend. I really dont get it.

By example across the light rock spectrum, if you want to keep drawing crowds and secondarily remain relevant, go light country. Look at all who have done just that..

Tommy Shaw was NOT a founding member of Styx. They did 5 albums before Tommy Shaw and had some success before he ever joined the band. Dennis DeYoung wrote and sang the vast majority of Styx's successful songs. Dennis was the group's leader and Tommy and James Young used Dennis' illness and desire to delay a tour as an excuse to kick him out of the band. Dennis was far more to Styx than Tommy and James combined. It is a disgrace that they get to use the Styx name on tour. I don't mind when bands tour w/o all of the living original members, but not when they exclude a member who wants to be with the band, clearly still has the talent to be with the band (Dennis still sings amazing), and especially when the excluded member of the band is irrefutably the most important reason for the band's historic success. Styx without Dennis DeYoung is not Styx. Lawrence Gowan may be fine, but he is nothing more than a touring member of the band. Their studio albums have had no success since Dennis DeYoung was kicked out of the band. Dennis being in the band would not guarantee success at all for studio albums (they would probably do better, but they will never have their former success), but a tour with Dennis DeYoung would have FAR higher attendance than the current Styx cover band gets. Tommy Shaw and James Young suck for excluding Dennis from the band.

There are so many things wrong with this story that I couldn't even get through it. It appears that Tommy and JY came up with this fairytale to make people think that they were right to replace Dennis. Made it seem like Dennis claimed to be sick, but really wasn't. It's despicable that the author of this story didn't even try to check the information before putting it out there. I lived through all of this and it saddens me that anyone out there is OK with the way that Dennis was treated. Dennis built this band with the Panozzo brothers in 1964 and later joined by JY to form Trade Winds 4. Later changed the band name to STYX and put out 5 albums. John Curelewski quit and Tommy entered the band 5 years later. Tommy is hardly a founding member. This is a terribly WRONG story. Mostly made up facts.

Can't say a blind job interview for liking that so much. It was reminiscing about times before he met Yoko Ono . His life was miserable when he met her and all that song did. Was shove a knife in his heart every time he heard it reminiscing about the good times before he met Yoko Ono.

Mick Mars is the sound of Motley Crüe and made them what they were. The rest were just ordinary and the way they got desperate and tried to shaft him was an obvious cops out. And they failed in court as far as I know. Mick rules.

He is my guitar idol since 80s and still is. Tried to tell my friends and they looked at me like I was crazy . But I knew the first time I heard him. Never met him, but I wish I could. Now that would be a great dream. That's why I play guitar ( but not as much as I would like). Still when I hear his chops it pumps me up. Mars is my guy forever.

Scholz took too long to come out with new music! And played most of the instruments on his later albums himself only having band members fill in here and there! So the perfect thing wasted a lot time when he could have put out way more music cause he was a good musician and had an ear for good music! While other bands from his generation were pumping out albums!
@mikemcgrath573015 күн бұрын
lets be honest- Mick is the true music talent in this band. Vince is a joke, Frank is good at what he is looking for. Tommy is too stupid to know what is going on. Been there before they got out of diapers.

Well of course he doesn't bring the same level of energy and showmanship that other guitarists bring to the show. Look what he's been dealing with for several decades. The guy has heart though, just for going out there night after night, living on a tour bus , all the while in just ungodly levels of pain, and that goes a lot further than showing off for the crowd.
