Bit late to the party. I have a QJ7000 and '73 JH. I find the blocks with the cutouts are bit better as it distributes the weight over a larger surface area. Love your content, its nice to see other people enjoying and using a JH.

Thanks for this brilliantly explained video Mark. On your shopping list I have found the same fan from stoney racing, but did they also supply the other items? e.g. .hoses, thermal switch, mikalor clips, overide switch.. If not can you point me in the right direction please. I'm in uk and want to make the same upgrade.

Surely with external pipes from one piston to the other, there's no oil ways which would leak fluid when you unbolt the piston. Any fluid leak would be from a perished or damaged seal or from the pipe connection or bleed - no ? Otherwise I'd like to know why they seize ? ..and how to prevent it ? when many classic cars are not used as everyday transport. Stainless steel pistons imply a lack of corrosion but surely it is the piston's seal sticking in the bore rather than metal to metal contact ? Thank you. Bfg.

My word, technology has moved on since I last marshalled around twenty-five years ago! We were using digital clocks then but nothing as sophisticated as this.

Fabulous motor cars - in 1977 I was 12 years old and went with my mum to buy a old English ?white one, deep blue interior with full webasto sunroof - £250 in very good condition CHT 550C (think its no longer around). She hadnt even passed her test and I went along for moral support.. 😮 The guy selling it also had an EType he had just bought. There was a problem after some months, float chambers I think ? The car ended up falling into disrepair at a rough garage for lack of parts and was knocked around badly and parts robbed from it.When it was finally recovered as the garage wanted it moved, it was a wreck.... Such a shame, my mum loved the car but in reality did not have the resources to run it....and it shpuld never have been left with those people. My dad bought another one from a work colleague, £150 from memory, not so nice but ran well, cant remember what became of that one. Lasting memories of the sound of the motor and the gorgeous interior leather and walnut, the flip switches incl a map light and the chrome handbrake to the right of the drivers seat.....

Due to the BABVVO and TEBBVO laws, all petrol cars will unfortunately soon be banned from public streets in the EU, CH USA and Scandinavia :-( In Germany, the Green People's Party has given the order to shorten the fuel supply from 2025 by reducing all conventional gas stations to just one state-run central gas station per city or county Now they even want to slow down all gas pumps by 20 liters per minute to 2 liters per minute... From 2027, some car spare parts will also be banned in the EU... such as exhaust systems, turbochargers and even some engine and gearbox oils. .. California and New York will do the same from 2027... So no more investing in petrol cars... They even created a new type of crime here called emissions and smoke crime . "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung" BABVVO in Germany and HESCHLAVVO in Switzerland.

The thing I hate about cars of the era is the whine of the straight cut gears, though it doesn't sound too bad in that.

This was delightful, thank-you so much for sharing. The little finger indicators brought a tear to my eye, I remember them from my father's car, in fact I remember him having to wire and add little round lights and tape down the fingers when the law changed, I hated the new indicators and have always missed the little fingers. What a beautiful car, I really didn't need the music, it was intrusive, I would have liked to hear more of the engine sounds.. I see it needed double-clutch for the gear changes lol gosh I miss these old cars they were so round and artistic and carefully made, I miss the dipswitch on the floor and I LOVED the horn! thank-you for including that it made me smile.

Definitely on my 'To-Do' list, thanks Mark for the info.
