I’m seeing videos of DIT yourself videos of people extending their EV cars. BMW use to put a small gas engine and 5 gallon tank. That’s how they extended the car’s distance. Here’s a better idea, buy a hybrid. 😂

This is very impressive. The breakdown of the charging protocol explains why these are not to be scared of. I’m looking for a 6kw capable wifi controlled evse that can be integrated with my solar to use my excess solar and programmed to use cheap Off peak power.

Leaf springs are the only springs I see custom made. The UK is full of leaf spring specialists. Finding custom antiroll bars on the other hand has been impossible the last 5 years of searching.

I know Im late to the party here, but I have some ideas others playing along might find helpful? first up, dont be afraid to wind your own coils (this goes for transformers to). they are one of the few electronic components you can realistically build yourself that will outperform something off the shelf, as you can tweak the value to exactly what you want it to be. turns, length, diameter conductor, core materiel. all easily controlled. gives you a huge amount of flexibility. one tip, dont try to wind one coil (IE, the spool the wire comes on), onto another, you *will* create a tangle. stretch your magnet wire out, and it will be far better behaved. I run mine down the hallway, spool at one end, winding at the other. it seems to help. laborious, potentially. but its not hard. like your grandma knitting. just put on a movie and let your fingers work. If you know you need a bunch of identical components, measure out the length required (if possible), pre cut and just wind away. I attach a fishing sinker to the far end so there is always a little bit of tension. The other thought, derived from stepper motor thinking, more poles = more good? IE, more torque. might take a little more microcontroller magic to make work than just slap a stepper motor driver on there, but surely there is a topology that could drive 8 or 16 poles at a higher frequency to get better torque. the less degrees of movement per pulse the more force you should get.

Im glad you built this. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how you would wind a transformer/motor thingie that would produce a rotating magnetic feild, which I assumed how they would work. I was very dissapointed to find that the traditional stirring is done by... a magnet on a motor. I mean, it should have been pretty obvious, but I wanted to see some neat AC widget that made a rotating magnetic feild (shut up nerd-brain, its called a 'Motor') So this is quite cathartic. much happier with this solution ^.^

How is there Henk Westbroek on the radio?! 🤣🤣 Are you in the Netherlands? I saw a 2017 model with the old 24kwh battery. What would you say it's the actual value (if all works fine still)? They sell around 10.000 euro ex. Vat but i feel the actual value is more or less 5 or 6ish ( ah i looked it up, indeed Dutch :) )

My immediate thoughts on safety. 1. You shouldn't have shown this video until you completed the installation as it's clearly unsafe in the video with no back housing on the socket and 2. You need drainage for the box - none of those connections are rated for submersion in water and neither is the EVSE.

Hello, I have that tablet, but the battery died. At minute 15:28 of the video, could an external 7.4V power supply be connected directly to that connector (or with two 18650 batteries in series and a 2s BMS)? The connector has many cables and I don't know whether to connect the power supply to any of the red cables and another to one of the black cables, when removing the old battery. I would like to be able to enjoy this fantastic tablet again and I don't know if that could be done to make it work again, I don't have a repair service nearby. Thanks in advance.

Nice video about the classic powerpack, But It is important to show the end connection video as you need to connect the battery cables first then the bms cable and not the opposite ! For the rest super
