I gotta say - it's really HIM, his fingers, and not simply the rig! ...and his Strat has a brightness to it, with those pickups, that works! But Gary does sell his Fractal rig presets on his Gary Cain band website if you wanna check that out!

You just disconnect each scene controller (5 per presets) - set it to NONE - the video shows you how to get to the place. Just set it to NONE instead of a CS switch for all controllers you want to take it off of, then SAVE the preset. That will remove them for a preset.

It's been on my list to do a Brit Rock Royalty #2 *that's why this was called #1) and do Houses, Graffiiti, and Presence...but these are difficult to make and I have had to spend my time updating TonePacks for firmware updates. I do want to do it, just too many things on the "must do" list in front of it so it keeps falling behind. One day!

Might be on to do that eq on Your amp but if your sending the sound guy with a shitty tone your gonna get a shitty tone. You don’t wanna eq it on the way out just dial your amp in so it sounds good cause you do t wanna send that eq Ed sound to the house

Hey Austin, I just bought your Gold+ pack. Sounds great! I do have a question regarding the fx loop. I use an external delay and trem that I want to kick in when needed. On my FM3 I usually use Out 2 and In 2 to insert external pedals. In your presets you use 'Feedback' Send and Return...I have no idea why, how to use them and I don't have any sound going through the external pedal. Can't find any explanation in your manual either. Can you enlighten us? Cheers!

Hi, so the feedback send/return is essential for a long single chain to run over a few rows. But it will send the signal to an Output (like external pedal) and then back into the FM3. you have to study the FM3 manual for using FX Loops with external gear and your FM3. Some of the rig diagrams show it. Hope that helps!

Hey - in the above README comments, at the bottom you can turn on SHOW TRANSCRIPT and you'll get a little window open top right that shows what Preset clips are at what locations to help you navigate the full 45 minute video. Also, in your KZbin cog wheel settings, make sure the video quality is set to at LEAST 720p or higher. Last, use good studio speakers or headphones if you can to hear the clips, not just laptop speakers! Enjoy! We'll do a few more of these "That AustinBuddy TonePack Show" episodes this year!

By the way if the G3 2024 tour comes to your town with EJ, Satriani and Via, the guitarist playing with EJ for his part on stage is Dave Scher - he's great!

Ok so I have Logic. The axe FX is plugged into iMac. The sound goes out to two studio monitors. Someone help me optimize all of the i/os, global, etc….I’ve had this setup for years but never thought to start from square 1 and maybe discover a better path. Any help would be great!,

Great video buddy! Two questions if I may? Why do you put the balance all the way to 100% right? And what are your Track Adjust and Glide Time settings? I hear a lag on my harmony part......thx again for the video. Extremely helpful - even 6 years later!

Hi Claudio: When I made this many years ago, I put the harmony off to one side so I could hear the notes better in stereo. But you don't need to do that of course. The newer units (III, Fm9, Fm3) pitch block now has better tracking too than the legacy older units. I set tracking to 8. You can take out any pitch "delay" millisecond values (set to zero) that you may see to stop any exaggerated delay. Enjoy!

If I understand you correctly, and your DAW input has NO Gain added to it from either the DAW software itself OR the interface hardware (not the Fractal), then trust the DAW sign level and keep it around -12db there "average" - make sense? Hope that helps. This video is almost 5 years old and the firmwares on the units have changed some of it, but the concepts/principles are the same.

@@LucasVale See if the utility VU has more than ONE scale type for the VU meter. I know in lLogic there are two types for example. Try to use the DbFS scale. You want the one where 0db (top) is basically the point where digital goes red and clipping happens.

Hello Austin, I have an AX8 is this preset sold separate or any Jim Hendrix presets by itself for AX8? Also on the above clip how is it that when you set up the external pedal 4 and used it to increase the input gain I noticed that your volume didn't go up? I am interested in getting presets for various songs or artists. Is that how your bundles are grouped?

Hi Ravi: My Hendrix (first album) presets are included as bonus presets in my 1000+ Dream Rigs TonePack. That TonePack really is an amp by amp set of presets, not an artist by artist one. But the bonus section of in does have a few artist presets of some classic rock guitarists I like, including presets for the entire the first Jimi album. The gain going up via pedal does increases the volume slightly but you can also set it up so that as the gain goes up, the amp level volume actually goes down slightly to compensate to higher gain volume - that is possible to do. Dan - go to the Fractal "Gift of Tone" Page and Download the AustinBuddy free Gift of Tone file from there. Now, those presets are not for the old XL -- BUT -- the Cab IR you need I made is in it and you CAN use that in your Axe-Fx 2. Then just follow the video instructions on how I set the amp block up - the video was done on an XL! Hope that helps!

@@austinbuddy13I DID THIS! And man it sounds killer!!! Got the cab in my AxeFxIIXL+ with matrix gt1000fx power amp but with “real” cabs and it still translates perfectly! I used all your settings and wore out the pause button lol but man it sounds great! I think the trick is that IR you posted. Did you ever do an EJ cab IR or patch?

Hi, any/what adjustments you'd recommend to the presets when using with studio monitors? As if I understand correctly - these were dialed in for live use? Also, are you planning to release "Naked amps" for FM3? Or maybe a somewhat reduced version of Naked Amps for FM3 (due to FM3 lack of dual amp feature).

Hi Al23x - you probably will have to cut some low end (under 100 to 150Hz) on your DAW's channel strip if you are using LiveGold presets for recording/mixing -- they are dialed in to have some low end/bass content you can and want hear on stage, but would not use in a recording. The 1400+ Naked Amps requires two amps and two cabs in a single preset -- so it cannot be done on an FM3 which only allows for one amp and one cab, 1400+ Naked Amps only works on the FM9 and III. Hope that helps! - AB

You can buy it for $99 at www.austinbuddy.com. You'll have to install some USER CAB IRs included with it in specific User Cab IR slots -- and there are seven banks covering every amp channel/model in the AX8, running from clean to lead, so checking those out that can help you find your "Dream Rig" sound. Most of these Presets were made for the AxeFX III and other late model fractal devices...HOWEVER I was wondering how many/if any "Gift of tone" presets would work on my AxeFX II XL+ BTW ATTENTION!!!! AxeFX III users: One day their is sure to be an "AxeFX IV" and you Loyal AxeFX III users will feel mighty left out if all the new cool free presets will only work on AxeFX IV units think about it.... Having spent what was considered allot of money for your "old" AxeFX III unit you would naturally want to partake in some of the new free presets.... One day this is sure to come for you as it is now for us Loyal AxeFX II XL+ users...Can anyone tell me if any of these "gift of tone "presets will work on the AxeFX II units?

I doubt these work on old axe models due to specific requirements for firmware and cpu load. Backwards compatibility is never available with these presets.
